Morning Run: Winding up
I just finished a 7.081km running that lasted about 0hh:39mm:14ss !
Yesterday it got very windy here and is likely to get worse by tomorrow. Places further north in the UK are likely to get much higher winds than we do. I was out last night securing a few things around the garden, but there was no obvious damage today. It was not too cold, but the wind would add a chill factor. At least the wind had dropped a bit.
As the schools are off this week I ran out past Etonbury without the issue of crowds of kids. I had no real plan today, but I went out fairly quick. I need to get used to going fast. I had the wind against me on the way back, but it was not too bad.
After the underpass I decided to take the track by the allotments. This proved to be muddier than I had expected. I was in my road shoes that do not have much tread, so I was slipping about a bit. I tried wiping some of the mud off on some grass once I was back on tarmac. By then I was tiring and so slowed down a bit as I took the back ways home.
The average pace was significantly quicker than my average for this route despite the mud antics. I may not make it to parkrun on Saturday, but I will try to get out on Sunday. I just hope the current storms do not do too much damage.
Run free and stay well.

Nice job on your run. Sounds like you made the smart play by slowing down on the mud. That can be dangerous I bet if you are not wearing the right shoes. We ended up having a snow day today and my body is a dumpster fire right now so I skipped my workout and just headed in to work.
I would have been quicker without the mud, but dealing with tricky terrain can give you a good workout as long as you avoid injury. I don't think we will see any real snow here this winter, but the wind is causing issues around the country.

Wind can be a real pain. Especially when it starts bringing down trees and stuff.
Didn't a tree fall on your deck? Some friends had one fall on their conservatory, but nobody was hurt. Falling trees seems to be a main cause of deaths when it's windy.
Yeah, it was a mess. It was a hard decision but we decided to have the rest of it cut down just to be safe.

.You seem to always love the challenge. Even though you won't take the route on Saturday, you you will attempt it on Sunday. Nice one
I really appreciate your efforts in doing this
Take care if you go out running tomorrow. There have been a lot of people hurt up this way from flying objects! Hats off to you for the continued running though, I can barely run a tap! 🤣
I may not run until Sunday now anyway. I see the parkruns are warning there may be issues if trees come down.
I know I end up saying this nearly every time but your really consistent pace on all of your runs remains impressive to me. Well done!
Cheers. I'm obviously doing something right.
