❤️ Thailand | Weekend in Phi Phi island [ part 1 ]

It's time to leave our beloved and beautiful island of Phuket and go to Koh Phi Phi, an amazing island in the Andaman Sea, for the weekend to decompress after another hard week's work.
Moreover, it gives me a good opportunity to see what my latest toy for my Canon eos M50 is capable of. A Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary lens. I'm already under the spell for its use in my stream/video conferencing setup.

Il est temps de quitter notre chère et tendre île de Phuket et de se rendre sur l'île de Koh Phi Phi, une île magnifique de la mer d'Andaman, pour le week-end histoire de décompresser après une autre dure semaine de travail.
En plus, cela me donne une bonne occasion de voir ce dont est capable mon dernier achat pour mon Canon eos M50, un objectif Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary. Déjà que je suis sous le charme pour son utilisation dans mon setup de stream/visioconférence.
Having postponed our trip by a week due to the fear of rain (the rainy season doesn't seem to want to stop) the desire to go this time was stronger even if the weather forecast (far from being accurate here) seems unfavorable.
It took us about less than thirty minutes to get to Rassada Pier (Phuket Town) from our house.
Ayant repoussé d'une semaine par peur de la pluie (la saison des pluies ne semblant pas vouloir s'arrêter) l'envie d'y aller à cette fois été plus forte même si les prévisions météos (loin d'être fiable ici) semblent défavorables.
Il aura fallu moins d'1/2 heure pour nous rendre à Rassada Pier (Phuket Town) depuis la maison.
We are well on time to buy our tickets easily, it's only 8.10am and the ferry leaves at 9am. Located less than 50 kilometers by boat from Phuket, Koh Phi Phi is an easy-to-access destination.
There is one ferry a day from Phuket (same for Krabi) and it takes 2 hours to get there. The price for one person is 450 THB (12.5 € / 15 $). You can also make the trip by speed boat in less than an hour.
Nous sommes largement dans les temps pour acheter nos tickets, il n'est que 8H10 et le ferry part à 9H. Situé à moins de 50 kilomètres par bateau de Phuket, Koh Phi Phi est une destination facilement accessible.
Il y a un ferry par jour depuis Phuket (pareil pour Krabi) et il faut 2 heures pour s'y rendre. Le prix par personne est de 450 THB (12,5 € / 15 $). Vous pouvez aussi faire le trajet en speed boat en moins d'une heure.
Here we are, it's almost 9am and it's time to board our ferry. To enjoy the landscape, we settle on the top floor on the roof with the few others brave enough to challenge the power of the Sun God. 🌞🤣
Il est presque 9H, le temps est venu d'embarquer dans notre ferry. pour profiter du paysage nous nous installons tout en haut avec les quelques autres courageux prêt à braver la puissance du dieu Soleil. 🌞🤣
The ship's engines start to whirr in a deafening noise, everything starts to shake like a sea monster taking its impulse to escape from its immobility.
The boat is really well done with many places to enjoy the view.
Les moteurs du navire se mettent à vrombrir, tout se met à trembler tel un monstre des mers prenant son élan pour s'extirper de son immobilisme.
Le bateau est vraiment bien fichu avec de nombreux endroit pour profiter de la vue.
7 years since I expatriated here and I am still amazed by the beauty of the Andaman Sea.
It was a really good idea to take the ferry instead of a speed boat to enjoy the view, I'm not disappointed!
7ans que je suis expatrié ici et toujours aussi émerveillé par la beauté de la mer d'Andaman.
C'était vraiment une bonne idée que de prendre le ferry plutôt qu'un speed boat pour pouvoir profiter du paysage, je ne suis pas déçu!
What? the island of Kho Phi Phi is already in sight, these 2 hours passed really quickly.
Mais voici que Kho Phi Phi est déjà en vu, ces 2 heures seront vraiment passées très vite.
I ❤️ Thailand, not only the landscapes are breathtaking but the kindness of the Thai people is great! Do you know a lot of ferries that slow down their engines and slowly approach some spots so that you can enjoy the view?
A nice way to get in the mood with these last kilometers before arriving at the port.
I ❤️ Thailand, non seulement les paysages sont époustouflant mais la gentillesse des thaï est extra! Connaissez vous beaucoup de ferry qui ralenti ses moteurs et s'approche de certains spots pour que vous puissiez profiter de la vue?
Une bien belle façon de se mettre dans l'ambiance à quelques kilomètre du port.
Taking benefit of the last minutes to enjoy the view from the ship, I begin to wonder what this small island of 12.25 km2 (4.73 sq mi) looks like without its tourists, its hippies, its full moon parties... And what about the shops & restaurants?
Even if the Thai government is trying to develop national tourism with extra days off, reimbursement of 40% of hotel fees (capped) etc... it's hard to compensate the 40 million tourists who won't come this year.
Profitant des dernières minutes à admirer la vue depuis le navire, je commence à me demander à quoi ressemble cette petite ile de 12.25 km2 (4.73 sq mi) sans ses touristes, ses hippies, ses full moon party... Et quand est-il des commerces & restaurant?
Même si le gouvernement thaï essaye de développer le tourisme national avec des jours de congé supplémentaires, remboursement de 40% des frais d'hotel (plafonné) etc... il est dur de compenser les 40 millions de touristes annuels qui ne viendront pas.
This is the end of our trip boat, the time has come to put foot on the ground now and to leave in direction of our resort. But that's another story 🤣, see you on the part 2 of this small weekend on the island of Kho Phi Phi.
Mais voici que s'achève notre traverser, il est tant de poser pied à terre maintenant et de partir en direction de notre resort, mais ça se sera pour la partie 2 de ce petit weekend sur l'ile de Kho Phi Phi. 😉
