Short walk to the Buddhist temple - Petite visite au temple bouddhiste

Sunday morning, meeting was given at 6 o'clock to go to the Buddhist temple next door with a friend.

วัดท่าเรือ (Wat Tha Ruea) is a temple 100 meters away from our home in the forest where I tell myself every time I pass by that I would like to stop to take some pictures and talk with the monks who live there.

Dimanche matin, rendez-vous était donné à 6 heures pour aller au temple bouddhiste à coté de chez nous avec un ami.

วัดท่าเรือ (Wat Tha Ruea) est un temple à 100 mètres de chez nous dans la forêt où je me dis à chaque fois que je passe devant que j'aimerais m'y arrêter pour prendre quelques photos et discuter avec les moines qui y vivent.

As the temple is surrounded by a green garden with lots of shady tropical trees, I always thought it was a small place, but I was very much mistaken!

Comme le temple est entouré d'un jardin verdoyant avec beaucoup d'arbres tropicaux ombragés, j'ai toujours pensé que l'endroit était petit, mais je me suis bien trompé !

There is a large ordination hall, a crematorium as well as a large sermon hall, a small bell tower but also a lot of small monks' houses.

L'on peut y trouver une grande salle d'ordination, un crématorium ainsi qu'une grande salle de sermons, un petit clocher mais aussi pas mal de petites maisons de moines.

วัดท่าเรือ (Wat Tha Ruea) was originally just a monastery. The main temple was completed in 1908 and named วัดเก่าท่าเรือ (Old Temple Pier) because in the past this place was the port. Nowadays the port and the marina is a little bit further (I had made a post and a video some time ago on it).

A l'origine, วัดท่าเรือ (Wat Tha Ruea) n'était qu'un monastère. Le temple principal fût achevé en 1908 et baptisé วัดเก่าท่าเรือ (l'ancienne jetée du temple) parce que dans le passé, cet endroit était le port. De nos jours le port et la marina se trouve un peu plus loin (j'avais fait un post et une vidéos il y a quelques temps dessus).

The purpose of our visit to the temple today is to prepare for the tambun baan ceremony where a group of monks (always in odd numbers) visit your new home to bless it and bring prosperity and happiness to its occupants. But this is another story for a future post.😉

le but de notre visite d'aujourd'hui au temple est de préparer la cérémonie du tambun baan où un groupe de moines (toujours en nombre impair) visite votre nouvelle maison pour la bénir et apporter prospérité et bonheur à ses occupants. Mais ça c'est une autre histoire pour un futur post. 😉
