Why I still might need a 9-5 as I navigate my way on the Hive
Source
I recently found myself at probably the lowest point I think I have ever been in my entire life, I’m just glad we don’t look like what we are going through and even more grateful for the friends I have in my life that helped me get a grip on life once again and press the reset button on what seemed like a helpless situation.
So, I have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and had a job back home in Yenagoa, Nigeria. Not the best of jobs, but one that I survived on. My love for the aviation sector made me take a detour, I quit my job jumped cities and began pursuing post-graduate degrees in Aerospace Engineering. I moved to Kaduna where I have been able to bag a Post Graduate Diploma and a Master (although in-view) in Aerospace Engineering. I am still at the last lap of achieving the Master's degree as I still have to complete my dissertation and successfully defend it in front of a panel to be awarded the degree.
In my pursuit for these postgraduate degrees I have lived in the bubble that I didn’t need any money at this point in my life to make me happy, I told myself that I just needed to focus on my education and survive by the little handouts I was getting from family and friends. After all, once I’m done with my education I would probably get a high paying job. All hell recently broke loose when my cosy little bubble burst in front of my eyes and what’s worse is that I didn’t have any f**k you money stashed away somewhere to fall back to. So, I was completely distraught by this hard reset but thought to myself that I need to get back on my feet and find a way to handle my business as no one else can completely do that for me. One way I know I can do that is by getting a regular 9-5 job to keep the lights on and food on my plate.

I started job hunting once again and I‘ve recently dropped my resume with at least 10 firms asking for any form of work to keep me from going hungry especially as I still cannot use my aerospace degrees to get a job owing to the fact that I need to be finished with all the prerequisites to be awarded the degree. Finding a job has been really difficult as employers do not need staff that still has an incomplete degree and I also need a job that would afford me time in the evening to finish the little of what is left of my thesis.
I’ve recently found myself getting hooked on the hive platform and blockchain technology as a whole and while I find it fascinating with so many new things to learn, a prospective source of livelihood and a haven for the most educating and entertaining content I have ever seen in my life, I still feel need to get a 9-5 that I could survive on until I can begin earning on Hive.
I have also been privileged to meet some interesting and very knowledgeable characters on cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology as a whole. People like @joshman, @edicted, @theycallmedan, @lisamgentile1961 and especially @belemo who is making effort to carry me under his wing (I just hope I’m not making myself too heavy). I intend to consistently hearken to whatever they say because they seem to know their way around this blockchain maze. Hopefully, by this time next year all my present dilemmas would be a thing of the past and maybe I would be giving good advice to those coming up within the ranks too but for now, come Monday the search for a job to stay afloat continues and maybe along the line I wouldn’t need it as direly as I do now.
In conclusion, one important lesson I’ve learnt from 2021 is that no matter how comfortable you might think you are, keep gunning for more and always put your finances on the front burner or like Belemo would say,
“if companies like Coca Cola still bother with advertisements, who am I to sit on my behind”.
So, Get up and keep moving!!!

You can obviously write really well and take the time to edit your work, so there's no doubt you're going to do well here if you stay consistent.
Happy to hear that @belemo is looking after you. The man knows what he's doing, so definitely try to soak up all the info on Hive and writing that you can get from him.
See you around the LeoFinance community :)

Thank you very much @forexbrokr, hearing words of validation like this is so uplifting. As for @belemo, I don't like to say it so much so he doesn't have an inflated head but I love that man.
It's also gay
Yes,that too.

Check out the last post from @hivebuzz:
Many bail during bull runs only to find out they cant make it during the bear.
Be mindful of this. Take your time and grow your base here before bailing on the job is my suggestion.
That way you have a solid foundation when you finally do decide to leave the 9-5.
