NEWBIES INITIATIVE TASK #3: QUESTIONS ABOUT DAPPS

I'd also like to apologize for turning up late. I won't give excuses, but I can promise it won't happen again.

This post will be my submission for the newbie initiative's third task

WHICH DAPPS DO YOU USE AND WHY?

I've gone through the post of some of my other other colleagues in the newbies initiative and it's no surprise that most of them picked PeakD as their most preferred choice. I also I'm no different. My go-to Dapps is and will always be Peakd(unless something better comes along).
The reason I prefer using it, and I think everyone else, is because of the easy navigation and all the other amazing features. I found it confusing at first but as time went by, I started to get the hand of it. I've tried using other dapps for the sake of exploration, but I always find myself coming back here. One other thing I like about peakd is the dark mode feature. I know other dapps like eccency too have this feature, but I just prefer using peakd's.

HOW DO YOU SEE HIVE NOW COMPARED TO WHEN IT WAS STILL STEEM? HOW MUCH HAS THE PLATFORM CHANGED YOU AS A NEW USER?

I don't really know much about Steem. Everything I know has been from the accounts of people that have been on the platform for long. From the little I know, I think Hive is a better upgrade of Steem. More organized and more rewarding than it's predecessor.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING PEAKD?

Just like I mentioned earlier, peakd is easy to use, and I believe that is one of the many benefits it offers to a new user.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING ECENCY?

Ecency is another dapps that is worthy of note. By using ecency, one gets to earn ecency points which can then in turn be used to do various stuffs like promoting or boosting your posts.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING HIVE.BLOG?

I've not really explored hive.blog as much as peakd or ecency. I've used it once or twice but really didn't like it that much except for the fact that it's more easier and faster to convert your earnings.

WHAT IS 3SPEAK

3Speak is a decentralized video platform here on Hive. Using 3Speak, vloggers get to upload their contents using videos.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING 3SPEAK?

I haven't uploaded any video on 3Speak, but I've seen many videos from the likes of @starstrings01 @jaydr @chosenfingers and many more.
With the little things I've seen, I can highlight some of the benefits of using 3Speak:

• Some content creators are able to express themselves better using videos rather than words. For the likes of these kinds of people, 3Speak is the perfect platform.
• Using 3Speak, one can do many things that writing might not be able to handle adequately. Things like music covers, DIYs, etc are some of the examples of things you can do with 3Speak.

HOW DO YOU EARN UPVOTES ON 3SPEAK? WHAT ARE THE KEY REQUIREMENTS?

Just like with writing, when making videos, one must make sure it's one that quality effort is put into it so as to make it turn out well.
Be it videos or words, anything that has quality in it will definitely earn upvotes.
Another thing to consider is the length of the video. The video shouldn't be too long or too short unless the reason is justifiable.

HOW MUCH VIDEOS MUST YOU MAKE TO GET NOTICED?

I personally think getting noticed isn't proportional to the amount of videos you make but rather how good your videos are. If you create something good and engaging per week, you're more likely to get more exposure than someone who just posts anything every now and then.

One thing I can just say is that, consistency is key. By being consistent, people will start looking forward to your contents and in no time you'll get the exposure you rightly deserve.

WHAT IS THE BEST LENGTH FOR A VIDEO TO GET MAXIMUM VOTES?

Just as I mentioned earlier, don't make your videos too long or too short, depending on what you're doing. So for this, I don't think there's a best length for a video, it all just depends on how engaging the video is.

People sit through 3 hours of some movies and these same people might not be able to survive 30 minutes of a lecture video. What changed? One is more exciting and engaging than the other. What really matters is creating good videos and not really the length. The length of the video is a factor but not as much as the quality.

ARE VIDEOS MADE LIKE PRESENTATION AND HUMAN VOICE SUCCESSFUL?

Yes, they are. A video made in a presentation-like manner is more likely to catch my attention and I wouldn't want a computer narrating a process to me. I'll feel more comfortable and assured hearing it from a fellow human.

IS IT HARD TO BECOME A VLOGGER?

Well, it depends. Some people will tell you that nothing is hard as long as you put your mind to it. I'm not one of those people. I believe vlogging as well as many other things are hard, but even though they are hard, I can still do them.

I'm no vlogger, but I know friends who are. And I know the amount of painstaking hours they spend trying to shoot and edit posts.

Vlogging is hard, but so is writing. And if you're writing already, you should know that vlogging is difficult, but you can become a vlogger.

Some might find it easy, but because one is finding it difficult doesn't mean you wouldn't figure it out eventually. Just try to be consistent, consult people who are ahead of you in the field and then learn from your mistakes.

EVERYTHING SOUNDS GREAT, NOW HOW TO MAKE AN ACCOUNT AND RUN IT?

They are lots of ways to make an account. One just needs to go on any of the Dapps and register so as to enjoy their benefits. And how to run it? Be consistent, always opt for quality. And one more thing - always Engage! Engage!! Engage!!!
