DJ Photo Collection
What's up Hive Multiverse?
Today I am back again with some of my favorite DJ pictures collected during a few years of taking photos at Psy Trance parties and festivals.
For these kind of shots with low light, I like to play between different settings, mostly flash photography with a long exposure to play with the lights and fluorescent decorations, other times just flash without the long exposure and other times high ISO shots.
The flash + long exposure works really good with the Psychedelic Trance decorations, with the result of some very trippy images!
I think that playing with these long exposures, moving the camera or zooming in or out during the exposure time, gives some kind of dynamic to the photos.
The same technique can also be applied on specific details, like the hands on the dj deck.
For good high ISO images is suggested the use of a full frame camera that does not generate too much noise, like my amazing Sony a7III.
In the following shot I actually used a combination of high ISO and a flash back lighting the subject.
Especially in Psy Trance parties, where the decorations are amazing with fluorescent light, so you don't want to kill those colors with your flash, it's important to find the right balance between high ISO and the flash.
I also love it when I can shoot in daytime with natural light.
And then sometimes you just need to be lucky and have the best natural light situations one could imagine! Like these shots taken in the morning with the sunlight getting right through a window next to the dj.
Light is your friend, my dear photographer! Play with it!
