My Hive introductory postš¤
Hello, everyone. My name is Kolawole Sukurat Titilope. I'm a native of Ibadan,Oyo state,Western Nigeria. I actually grew up in the Southern part of Nigeria,Portharcourt to be precised, located in Rivers state. Turned 20 this year and people telling me that I look 16 year.
I'm dark in completion and of average height. I'm slim too. Not everyone saying I'm a foodie and I'm still slim. I always laugh when they say that.
MY DISCIPLINE
I am currently studying Electrical and Electronics engineering in Federal University of Agriculture,Abeokuta,Ogun state. I'm in 300 level and it is a five years course. Honestly,I didn't know that I'll end up studying engineering. While growing up,I had wanted to be an accountant. I was also very good at Mathematics. My parents and my teachers in school all wanted me to study medicine. They all said I was very brilliant and medicine would be good. I knew everyone all had my interest in mind. It was a general belief that if you are brilliant, you should be a science student, and if you are very brilliant, you should study medicine. Well,I ended up being in the science class, but I knew I wasn't going to study medicine, even if I knew that at that point,I didn't know what I was going to study. I can't even watch someone being injured and I can't even stand the sight of blood. I knew from the onset that medicine was not for me. Not me watching someone getting injured in a movie or someone dying. I end up crying. The thought of me seeing that in reality shakes me up. Even our Biology practicals where we are asked to disect some species,I try to avoid it a lot. Then,I thought of studying Architecture too, because I am very good at drawing. I was told later on that Architecture is more complex than I think it is. It is not like the normal drawing I do. I had to go and see a guidance counsellor in school. After she asked me a couple of questions about my likes and dislikes,my passion, the subjects I had interest on,she asked me what I thought about Engineering. That all my interests and hobbies suits Engineering. I decided for to go for it and here I am today, studying engineering.
MY JOURNEY TO THE WEST
As I said earlier,I was born and brought up in Portharcourt in Southern Nigeria, and I'm currently schooling in Ogun state,Western Nigeria. Before I gained admission into the Federal University of Agriculture,Abeokuta(FUNAAB),I hardly came to the west. I remember going on two occasions,to visit my grandparents, and I was about five years old. So when I was going to school,I felt like I was going into another world, because the tribes and languages differ. It goes down to their way of life and their food. Honestly,it took me a while adapting to the environment and the people as a whole. Even some of their beliefs differ. I was able to adapt and I got used to the environment.
MY HOBBIES
I love seeing movies, honestly. I could literally go a day seeing movies. I also love seeing anime. I hear a lot of people say that anime are for kids but I don't agree with them. I also love going to the cinema to see movies. I like Indian movies and Korean movies. The first Korean movie I ever saw was Ijimae. I didn't know how to pronounce this at first. The movie is about a boy who is from royalty but his father was killed. He lost touch with his mother and sister. He was saved by a man. He lost his memory and the man took him as his son. He regained his memory in the long run and started stealing from the palace to feed the citizens. He knew that the person that killed his family was from the palace but he didn't know who. He found his sister too but she was killed. He also found out that he had a step brother and the wife if the man that took him in was his father's concubine, but his step brother grew up in the palace because his mum lied that she had him for one of the officials. To cut the long story short,Ijimae found the man the killed his father.
I love reading novels too. I'm not a fast reader but I enjoy reading them. When I read novels,it's just like I visualise everything I'm reading and sometimes,I feel like I'm in the story. It's a beautiful feeling. One of my favourite novel is Dairy of a Wimpy kid,Purple Hirbiscus and Half of a yellow sun. Purple Hirbiscus and Half of a yellow sun was written by Chimamanda Ngozie Archie,a Nigerian writer.
Cooking is also one of my hobbies. My favourite food is pounded yam and egusi soup. Egusi soup is also known as melon soup. Mentioning it alone makes my mouth waters.
