Hey friends, how's it going?

I've noticed a lot has changed in our community lately. I've been a bit out of the loop due to taking care of my ill mother, which kept me away from posting for a while. As a result, I've fallen behind on sharing updates here.

But amidst all that, I managed to squeeze in a few bike rides, although I had to postpone some longer ones due to time constraints. Yesterday, I embarked on a particularly challenging ride in scorching 32°C weather. I knew the heat was coming, so I was prepared.

My route took me along the serene Serio Park cycle path, a beautiful trail that winds beside the Serio River through flat countryside dotted with fields and charming farmhouses.

I tracked my journey on the Strava app and covered about 52 km in 3 hours and 36 minutes. The heat did slow me down at times, despite staying hydrated with supplements.

It was a solitary ride, which I find refreshing sometimes. Surprisingly, I didn't encounter many others along the way—perhaps not a popular route in the summer heat.

Luckily, I stumbled upon the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Mercy, where I found respite and coolness. It's amazing how cycling lets you discover hidden gems like this.

Towards the end, I found solace in stretches of shade provided by small woods, a welcome relief from the blazing sun.

Overall, I returned home exhilarated. While I wouldn't recommend this route in summer due to the heat, it's definitely worth exploring in cooler seasons. Hope you enjoyed my adventure—see you next time!
