A Perfect Weekend Ride: Exploring Villafranca and Beyond by Bicycle
Hello friends!! How are you?
Once again this Monday, I'm here to tell you about how I spent my weekend, and this time I was very satisfied because I was able to take a wonderful ride, partly one that I had already done but this time instead of starting from Peschiera and going all the way to Mantova, I took a detour and went as far as the city of Villafranca.
Basically, I took the train from Milan, luckily there are trains where you can hang bikes, and by paying practically double fare, I arrived at the Peschiera del Garda station, a place I've mentioned here in the community before, a place that is already nice to explore by bike, but actually my idea was to get to a place in the province of Verona called Villafranca, where they organize an antique market, and you know I quite like these markets, so since I didn't want to get there by car I decided to make this trip by bike.
Yesterday let's say it was a very hot day, anyway in about an hour or so I arrived in Villafranca where I took a quick stroll through the market, and after quenching my thirst properly, I set off to return because I wanted to stop both in Valeggio sul Mincio and in Borghetto which is this beautiful place nearby.
Honestly, I thought I would struggle more with the heat, I'm not used to that temperature so much, but actually I arrived quite easily in Valeggio, where I had my lunch break. There I practically climbed up to where the castle is located, and I must say there were quite a few people interested in visiting this place, even at the Peschiera station there were quite a few people, let's say it's been many years since I've seen all these people.
And then I passed by the Visconteo bridge, and I took some photos in Borghetto, which is always this picturesque and beautiful village, where I stopped to eat and I even forgot to take some photos of what I ate. Anyway, very simple things based on fish because after all we are near Lake Garda.
Then I took the cycle path again and went towards Peschiera del Garda where the train awaited me, and with a lot of effort I managed to find a place to hang the bike and return to Milan, tired but happy with this beautiful day.
I hope my story was interesting and I also hope that the photos I shared were interesting, see you next time! Always with my bicycle!
