Project Hybrid: A tool that can potentially make game creation easier, and accelerate the onboarding of new Hivers
I stumbled across an announcement for a new project for Hive today by @spiritsurge called Project Hybrid @projecthybrid which is aimed at making game-making easier. This project aims to create a new set of tools for game development for Hive.

Judging from the list of who had upvoted this announcement post posted in early March 2023, I think many in the Leo Finance community had not heard about Project Hybrid. So it is worthwhile to share this info, in case some of you out there are thinking of making games on Hive. Secretly, I am!
I am in no way affiliated with this project, but I do think it's pretty cool if it eventually comes to fruition.
The post outlines three issues that confront game makers:
- Problem 1: Connection of a game to the Blockchain and signing transactions
- Problem 2: Analytical tools
- Problem 3: Cost
It then went on to propose why Hive is a good solution for it. I shall not spoil the fun for you. You go discover it yourself!
My biggest takeaway is that it can potentially make game creation easier, and then we can accelerate the onboarding of new Hive users without them knowing they are on Hive.
For that, I am impressed! I can't wait for to see it completed.
It is still under development, so it could help if it gets more exposure in the Hive community. Thus this post.
I will be watching this closely!

I am glad somebody is working on that because I am loving these games built on the blockchain⚒️🎮
I don't think I have heard about this before but I look forward to it. I wonder what types of tools they will make and whether or not applications will use it.

Thanks for this info on Project Hybrid which I'll now check out further.
There are advantages and disadvantages to which parts of games or apps you put on a blockchain that should be considered. For me, I'm happy just to have in-game currency convertible to Hive tokens. That's one fairly easy way to implement the advantage of a crypto token into a game.
I hope they succeed and thus provide more options for Hive. The new VSC smart contract is also another nice development. !PIZZA
More options are always good, unless its just an exact duplicate of what already exists. We do have hive-engine smart contracts obviously used in the Splinterlands game (same or maybe partly the same team I think) and if I recall, most or all of that is open source. So I'm watching to see what VSC and Project Hybrid do to add to what we already have.
Blocktrades was talking about a smart contract project but thee latest I heard about his team is they are shutting down their exchange to US people and I wonder how the same concerns about US regulation will affect what his team decides to do in the future.
But we're a varied group of Hive people from all over the world and I feel that the future is still bright for HIVE!

Rather "without them knowing they're on Hive", they could get to know Hive through the came they entered with.... !LUV
