Indoor Camping

Indoor Camping
The weather in the northeast has been unseasonably fucking cold! What's been crazy has been the amount of single digit temps we've been having. It works out for when we want to go spend time on the lake, it's nice and frozen solid for that! What isn't as fun though, is when it stays in the cold temps for long periods of time. Doesn't make for a lot of fun for the little man!
What the little man is great at though, is coming up with ways he can have fun on his own! He's got a wonderful imagination that's for sure lol
For his birthday last year some family got him this pretty cool camping tent set, it was a toy one for sure but it was still getting put to good use! We decided to pull it out the other day after watching some of the awesome family outdoor channels on YouTube like the Outdoor Boys.
One of the things they are constantly doing on the Outdoor Boys is going camping! With a name like that, it's obvious that's what they are into. With the camping and tents and stuff we've gotten some inspiration for sure. To prepare for our camping and outdoor adventures coming in the spring, we've been doing some fun stuff indoors while we can. The little man set up his tent and proceeded to build a fire, fake of course!
He even got a pan and started cutting up some veggies to make his own little home cooked fire meal. He will certainly have a partner in the camping stuff with me! I've been looking forward to getting into camping and outdoor stuff for a while but can't convince my wife to sleep in a tent outside lol so the little man and I will do it while my wife sleeps at home or in a hotel nearby lmao
I am amazed at his ability to find ways to entertain himself constantly, even if it ends up getting a little bit destructive. It just helps push us to get out of our small condo and into something that gives us some space for him to run around outside and play. We've got some ideas for places we are going to start camping in the coming weeks that's for sure!

Camping is a great change of pace. I haven't been for a while. I am thinking of getting some gear again and going some place.
Camping looks like it's going to be a lot of fun for sure this summer! Hopefully we can make it a bunch of times, that will make me happy.
Indoors camping is a great idea. I've also been putting up a tent in the children's room a few years ago. The last 3 summers I've been putting artifical has on the roof top terrace and the children are camping a whole summer safe, outside and at the same time next to my room and theirs :-)

That's a great idea! I guess the very first time we camp it could just be right outside our door on the deck. That way, when our son cries to go home we just walk inside hahah. We will also have one of our first experiences in our family members yard. I think doing that a few times will be good and an important stepping stone to go for more and longer.
