Snack for today (Crispy mushroom)

No day without making snacks. This afternoon my mother made snacks from mushrooms. This fungus usually grows a lot on palm waste that is not used and is still wet. Since my house is not far from a crude oil processing plant, palm oil waste is easy to find around. Palm oil waste that is not used is usually used as fertilizer. Fertilizers will be used to fertilize plants when the waste has become compost. Besides being used for fertilizer, wet waste will produce mushrooms that can be processed into food. Usually, these mushrooms are processed into a stir fry, soup, or just fried to be used as a snack.
This afternoon my grandma came to the house to give me a plastic bag filled with straw mushrooms that she bought from a friend. For 5,000 IDR or about 0.35 USD, my grandma was able to get a plastic bag of mushrooms to enjoy. This mushroom has a taste that is not inferior to chicken meat. The soft texture with a taste like chicken makes this mushroom widely sold and marketed. My mother said, for one kilogram of mushrooms the price can be around IDR 10,000 or 0.69 USD.
Steps to process mushrooms into delicious snacks:
1. Clean the mushrooms by splitting the mushrooms into several pieces. Make sure that no animal or dirt remains on the mushrooms. Splitting mushrooms aims to separate mushrooms that are still good from rotten mushrooms.
2. When the cleavage process is complete, wash the mushrooms thoroughly and make sure the dirt attached to the mushroom stems is completely gone. Then, boil for about 5 minutes so that the texture of the mushrooms becomes softer when fried.
3. Drain the boiled mushrooms to separate the water from the mushrooms.
4. Next, mix the mushrooms with the seasoning flour. For flour, you can also use flour that has been seasoned. Mix and stir until the flour and mushrooms are well combined.
5. Fry the mushrooms that have been mixed with the spiced flour over medium heat so that they cook evenly. Wait until the color turns golden.
6. Remove and let stand to separate the oil on the cooked mushrooms. Crispy mushrooms are ready to be served.
These crispy mushrooms are better to enjoy when they are still warm. When it cools down, it will be tough in texture. As much as possible, immediately enjoy this mushroom preparation while it is still warm so that the delicious taste is not lost.
