Up & Coming Milton Keynes

THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW MEGACITY IS UNDERWAY

Just got home from a horrendous drive from Milton Keynes. On the way up there had been a crash on the M1 that backed up the cars for miles. It added almost an hour to my journey, making it both infinitely more boring and more expensive, not to mention polluting to the environment. Driving on the M1, one isn't surprised that these crashes happen. One is only surprised they don't happen more often. Not once, not twice, but trice did I get cut up by drivers changing lines in front of me without indicating first. I also had to perform an emergency break (not stop) because, I don't know, someone ahead of me decided to go from 60mph to 40mph without any apparent reason. The journey back was just the usual congestion, especially at the M25 unction. I tell you though, driving is the most dangerous thing I do.

Anyhow, while at MK, I managed to do some bush walking! Yup. There are lots of bushes up there, even though many of them are not true bushes in the practical sense of the word. There's also a lot of development going on in MK. The place has transformed incredibly with entire town-sized, self-sufficient estates popping up on the outskirts. Once you have a few large supermarkets, schools and recreational parks, what else do you need really?

Talking of the parks, I was happy to see there are still plenty with natural looking parts, even if they fencing gives it away. I think the fenced areas are a sign that they may already be earmarked for development. It doesn't necessarily have to be residential, it may be commercial like more warehouses or even offices. Why not? MK is close enough to London, and now has enough businesses there, to warrant its own financial district.

I can imagine in the next 50 years or so, this city would have grown to swallow it's outskirt towns like many cities tend to. It has the potential to be the next megacity in the UK.

I did 20 years of driving down the A1M to London. I don't miss that at all. So many crazy people in a hurry.

I hope MK does not lose its green areas. Those must be part of the appeal of living there. When I go there it tends to be a drive to the shops so I haven't explored the parks much.

It's expanding so rapidly. The area around the Amazon warehouse has become almost as large as central MK itself. It's crazy.

This is fantastic. I'm hoping to pay a visit to MK shortly. Many Ghanaians, I've been informed, are quite interested in relocating here. I'm hoping for quick growth in MK. Thank you very much, sir. Can l DM you on discord please, mcsamm#3865
