My Entry To the Shadow Contest-Round 92- Show Me A Shadow

Sometimes it can be difficult to find a shadow that fits into that week's Shadow Photo Contest, the wonderful weekly photo contest created by @melinda010100, but for Round 92 no one has an excuse not to enter. @annephilbrick is hosting this week and she is making it ridiculously easy for everyone to enter. This is the week to show off a shadow photo that you have not yet had an opportunity to enter in previous contests. Yeah, that's it...any shadow photo. So, here's my entry:

Anacapa, Santa Cruz, San Miguel and Santa Rosa are four of the five islands (out of a total of eight) that make up the Channel Islands National Park. The fifth, and southern most, is Santa Barbara Island, which didn't make this wall of fame at this school in my neighborhood. Santa Clara? I'm not sure.

I've only visited Santa Cruz Island, but I would like to go to Anacapa. It has an archway at one end that is found in logos for lots of local businesses.

Anyway, it took me a while to get this photo because the shadows are only visible at mid-day when the sun is overhead, and I'm usually at work then. On the weekends, my wife and I tend to stay busy. Somehow I remembered to run over there one Saturday and snap these images. I haven't been able to enter them in a Shadow Photo Contest until now though.

I love it when designers create things that play with shadows like this. They are so rare to find anywhere. Thank you for showing off a wonderful example. Thank you.

Thanks for taking a look. It took me driving by on a weekend to even see what this was. I drove by the same school this morning on my way to work today and it just looks like colorful shelves.

Because this theme has been so popular we are thinking we may stick with it for a while! Judging will be harder though. These are quite wonderful shadow photos! I'm glad I didn't have to wait for the next appropriate theme to roll around to see them! Thanks for entering and supporting the contest! 😘

Thanks. I’m not sure what theme would have fit. I thought “letter shadows,” but the letters aren’t the shadows, so I’m happy for this theme of anything goes.
