Fear of snakes: An ongoing confrontation with myself.

Fear of snakes: An ongoing confrontation with myself.

Fear is a natural emotion, but it doesn't have to define us. We can choose to face fear and overcome it. Education and information are essential tools in combating fear and prejudice. Openness and courage can help us discover new perspectives and expand our comfort zone.

Ever since i was little, i have had a terrible fear of snakes. I don't know exactly where this fear came from, but I vividly remember how i shuddered with terror at the mere sight of a snake, be it real or drawn. This fear has accompanied me throughout my life, influencing many of my choices.

My fear of snakes is probably an ancestral one, passed down from generation to generation. A fear that keeps us safe, a legacy of our ancestors who learned to beware of dangerous reptiles.

As an adult, i have come to realize that my fear of snakes is irrational. After all, I've never had a traumatic experience with a snake. Yet the fear lingered, deeply rooted in me.

I wanted to overcome this fear that was limiting me and depriving me of experiencing certain things. I started by documenting myself about snakes, reading books and articles, watching documentaries and videos. I learned about the different species of snakes, their habitat, their behavior and the real dangers they pose.

However, despite my fear, i have an irresistible fascination with snakes. I'm drawn to their graceful images, the way they move and the way they change their skin. I watch documentaries about them with rapt eyes and read avidly about exotic species from various corners of the world.

As i gained more knowledge, my fear began to diminish. I realized that snakes are not evil creatures, but simply animals that adapt to their environment. I understand that most species of snakes are not dangerous to humans and that their attacks are rare and usually provoked by a sense of threat.

I would never say that it is wrong to be afraid of poisonous snakes. Fear is a natural instinct that protects us from danger. In the case of poisonous snakes, the fear is justified, because a bite can have serious, even fatal consequences.

However, it is important to differentiate between rational fear and irrational fear. Rational fear helps us to be cautious and avoid dangerous situations. Irrational fear, on the other hand, can paralyze us and prevent us from enjoying life.

Remember, fear is a normal emotion and there is no shame in feeling it. The important thing is not to let yourself be paralyzed by fear and to keep exploring the world around you, even if that means overcoming some fears.

Believe me🙋 it never occurred to my mind that there are people on this earth who like to eat snake meat ~ this is new to me. I honestly wouldn't eat it, that is, if i had to choose a salad of greens or vegetables and snake meat......I would choose to be a convinced vegetarian. I would never touch any cooked snake. I think☺️ i'd starve to death with the cooked snake on my plate - I definitely would. All the best 👍 my dear @rafzat !PGM !LOOLZ !MEME !LUV

Interesting stuff! Can't believe the snake charmer, acting so casual around those King Cobras. The cynic in me wonders if the snakes have been de-fanged? Though I'm happy to think otherwise. I've encountered venomous snakes before while bushwalking and have been nervous, but in every case I just stopped and focused on breathing calmly. The snakes just headed off away from me into the scrub.

Those two snake in your lead image are so cute 😄

Until now, in reality, i have never met a poisonous snake and i really wish i never did. As far as i know, defanging snakes can put them at risk of losing their lives ~ only true for certain species. In general, removing the fangs can damage the glands or venous channels, leading to infections, necrosis or even death of those beings. Such practices change the way they feed, or defend themselves and interact with the environment.

Imagine what snakes looked like in the age of dinosaurs!!!🤣 Modern snakes are the direct descendants of primitive snakes. It is supposed that in those times there were snakes with limbs, necks as long as giraffes, horns and even wings! - huge snakes, reaching lengths of over 12 meters and weighing over a ton, far exceeding the size of any snake existing today. I believe📖🧙‍♂️ that the dragons in the mythological legends of the world have a grain of truth about those fantastic beings called dragons or hydra - they simply did perhaps to those huge snakes with diversified characteristics that were perhaps present on this earth in the age of dinosaurs. !PGM !WEED !MEME !LOOLZ !HUG

Yeah de-fanging would be cruel to the snake, I hope it wasn't the case here.

And wow! Never considered prehistoric snakes and the ancestors of modern snakes before; it's fascinating to read and think about. Incredible possibilities! I need to look into this more thoroughly. Thank you
