Hey dear Hiveans, first of all I would like to welcome you all to my new contribution and hope you have a December so far which has brought some interesting experiences into your life! In my new contribution I would like to go into mythology and I am happy if you can learn new things.

The god Harpocrates has his origins in Egyptian mythology where he is also known as the god of secrecy and his parents are also known as the goddess of fertility Isis and the god of the underworld Osiris. He is also considered Horus in the form of a child and Horus is one of the best-known gods who was also considered the protector god of the sky and there are also more meanings for his form as a child which have changed in the course of the various dynasties and over time, the cult has expanded more in other countries. The name Harpocrates is originally derived from the Greek and another name from ancient Egypt is also Hor-pa-chered and this deity was mainly worshiped in the Mediterranean area near the city of Alexandria. Harpocrates was worshipped mainly as a protector god and with his diversity he was also associated with mystical aspects and often sculptures were created by him which were erected near religious buildings such as temples. Later, the cult also expanded in other areas and he was also worshipped in the Roman Empire and here the meaning has changed somewhat and Harpocrates was additionally used as a symbol in competitions and there are numerous discoveries of sculptures or jewellery in which he was depicted. The representation as seen on this relic in which he symbolises secrecy is typical and one of the best known and in addition, I photographed a sculpture and both works of art originally come from Roman times.

It seems like a fascinating story but all are just myths and gossip, and have no relationship with reality!

Anyway, thanks for the entertaining post.
