Pokemon Go: March 2023 Community Day Event Details

Niantic has announced the star Pokémon of the next community day event for March 2023. Slowpoke and Galarian Slowpoke, which are the “Dopey” Pokemon from two separate generations given their different forms will be the featured Pokémon and spawn more often during the event Saturday March 18, 2023. I was somewhat surprised at this cycle but as I do not have a shiny one yet, I am all for it as the family has recently continued their Pokemon adventures.

As usual the community day event will last for three hours and will be on a Saturday this time around again from 2pm to 5pm local times. The bonus during the event will be three times XP for catching Pokemon in addition to double candy for the same. There will also be a double change for trainers level 31 and up to received XL Candy from catching Pokemon. No other rewards have been announced except for the typical three hour lure duration.

As usual, you will have a chance to encounter the shiny form of the Pokémon Slowpoke in increased probabilities during the event. Also, a charged attack move, Surf, will be gained from evolving Slowpoke up to five hours after the event has been announced. It will a good opportunity to evolve Galarian Slowpoke as it will take 30 psychic type catches will adventuring with the Pokemon instead of 30 Poison types. However, it will only be up to 10pm local time. Good luck and catch ‘em all!
