Gods of the Greek Mythology - Athena #4
Under the supervision of Themis, the goddess of justice, the inhabitants of Attica vote. It is the women's votes that bring a decision in favour of Athena.
Poseidon is raging and angry.
To take revenge for this humiliation he wants to flood Attica but Zeus, who followed the election closely, forbids him to do so.
The ruler of the seas leaves Olympus.
Full of resentment and hatred for Zeus's daughter, he locks himself in his sea palace and thinks about another form of retaliation.
The reason for the choice of the Attics is simple, Poseidon offers them entertainment and war, Athena peace and agriculture.
In honor of the goddess, from now on this place shall be called Athens.
Erechtheus, Athena's son later becomes one of the first kings of this city. Athena is dedicated to the people and of course she becomes the goddess of protection of the heroes, she contributes decisively to their success in their heroic deeds.
Without her valuable help Perseus would not have defeated the terrible Medusa, whose face distorted to a grimace then adorns Athena's shield. A gift from the hero Perseus to his protector.
In the Trojan war Athena stands on the side of the Greeks and brings them to the idea of the wooden horse.
Later she helps Odysseus to return to Ithaca. And his son Telemachus finally steers in the shape of the wise mentor on the track to his father, with her help.
She is also the one who let Prometheus one evening secretly entering Olympus so that he can steal the fire that he wants to bring to the mortals on earth.
Athena teaches this mortals boldness and prudence, a new form of bravura that is characterized by reflection and cunning instead of blind, irrepressible rage.
The goddess of war, Athena, presents herself to mortals as the counterpart to her brother Ares, who is also a god of war, but the god of bloody slaughter.
Different as Ares, Athena's goal is to bring peace through intelligent warfare instead of destroying the enemy.
Another perfect series from you. Thank you for your valuable sharings.
