from last night, which is FAR from an actual tune, and not mixed at all, but I figured I'd take a break from the previous idea, as I didn't have anything new to improve it yet. I started here with the drums, the Analog Face kit, which I recorded to Track 3, with the Spectral Resonator and Gated Delay. I also added some hats in Track 4, with the same effects. These play alongside the dry drums in Track 1. I like the beat/timbre of these, so I'll definitely keep that, but I'm not sure about the rest. Everything else except Track 11 comes from Native Instruments Ashlight demo; I used the MIDI clip below, and recorded 4 different versions of it with different presets from the demo. Some I like, some I don't, all are too loud and muddy, so that'll be a major edit if I keep some of them. Track 11 is a LABS instrument, which outlines a different progression (just root notes), which is also played by Track 5, which uses another Ashlight preset. I'm not sure where this will go, but its a decent start, even if most of it is chopped up or removed. I also want it to be longer, as lately everything I've shared is rather short, so I'm going to try and get some more dynamic and textural variation throughout this to make it more interesting despite the added length. We'll see where things go.
