Maine-ly Acadia National Park on Market Friday
STOP!! BRAIN TEASER AHEAD!!
Answer! Can you guess??? Tulips (two lips) I'm sorry! I couldn't resist!
Rules of the Road
- Go to the market, or anywhere that you pay money for a service.
Take pictures! Be creative! - Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost?
- Post the picture(s) Of course, you should tell a little bit about the ones you post
- Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post #hive-196308 (this is not required, but appreciated)
- Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it
- Following me and reblogging the post so more see it would be appreciated !! Not a rule, just appreciated, more vision for more views on your posts!
- You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post. If you don't and someone reads it, there is nothing to tie #MarketFriday to that post.
- Please only one post each week. Believe it not, I run out of voting power if you put in many more than that.
As always, there must be flowers to color my world. #alwaysaflower

Well worthwhile paying to enter parks like this, seeped in beauty well maintained for everyone to enjoy, which reminds me most of our parks are paid parks too!
Lovely granite rock formations, water thundering below steep cliff, nice wood carvings to consider to purchase to take home with you as a reminder of a remote island rich in nature.
@tipu curate
Upvoted 👌 (Mana: 75/95) Liquid rewards.
Thank you @tipu and @joanstewart !
#MarketFriday loves you!
It is such a beautiful place, the water crashing against the rock, spraying everything in its' path. The pink granite is so much prettier in person, I was sorry it didn't come out better, but, perhaps next time, I will have better lighting.
The wood store is such an incredible place with a worthy mission, so I always like to go in and check them out. I want to thank you so much for always stopping by and leaving your words... and your tipu curation is so appreciated! Thank you so much!
#MarketFriday loves you!
A place I would thoroughly enjoy watching the water crashing in, the rocks do look fascinating. Photography never quite captures what the eye sees.
Stores with handcraft work from natural products always end up an adventure seeing how people use what they find.
Distant shores look welcoming, I know we have beauty here, now I long to move, experience more desolate places. Have a wonderful weekend Denise.
Thank you for the repost @pixresteemer ! Much appreciated!

Hello beautiful step before starting to work.
I'm not going to go to that park alone, when I get closer I want you to accompany me, okay?
It is beautiful and I love the pink rocks and the wildness of the sea.
I have also been sprayed by the waves without realizing it, at first you get scared then you laugh and then you freeze haha how many emotions.
Those places are magical, so many things to appreciate and the sea, I would love to meet it and meet you although I think I know you something hahaha.
Some lobsters to eat? I have only eaten once in Egypt, here they are very expensive so we make do with the prawns hahaha
Question: What kind of trees do you get when you plant kisses?
Although here as you know there is a lot of tree I think that with a kiss I would grow ginkgo biloba
It is a tree that fascinates me so beautiful its fan-shaped leaves.
Well, pretty, I'll give you my ticket and I get to work
Happy Friday
Old market in another city - Mercado antiguo en otra ciudad
Hello Beautiful! I love when I am surprised by the splash of the sea! I think when the sea calls and you don't answer, it tries to get your attention! It is so pretty there with all the wildlife and flowers. The trees, so many different kinds.
It is the pink granite (rocks) that I love about the Park. I had only seen it in the Smithsonian Museum... and guess where they mined it? At ACADIA! I know this because they will be renovating and they have come back for more. There are not many places that have natural pink granite.
I do love the ginko balboa! It is such an interesting tree! Do they have them near where you live? I have none here. :)
I want to thank you for such a wonderful post every week almost! Thank you for stopping here and dropping your link!
#MarketFriday loves you!
Oh! And lobster is delicious! It is not too expensive here, but, they get them right off the coast! They should give them to us for free~
I've been to Maine several years ago but don't remember much of it. Impression is it's a nice scenic harbor city. Of course, lobster
Of course, lobster!!! Who can go to Maine and not have a lobster? All the lobster shacks on the coast? Pull up anywhere and they will throw one in the post for you.
Maine is very scenic, but, it doesn't have the amazing memorable stuff that tourist look for. Maybe now, if you like nature. But, not when you were a studenT. Hi, Ace!

Wow. I love it. Makes me think of paintings I have seen from Bellows, Homer etc. Of course they might not be from here... :)
It doesn't matter! Isn't it amazing that someone can capture the essence of that on canvas? I am always amazed! Have you ever been to Maine or Acadia? Somehow, I feel like you have not been to the East Coast (you old Californian! :)) )
Hi @rossfletcher !!

Have a nice and warm day!
Noooo! More rain? I cannot believe how much rain you have gotten this year. The sea is so revitalizing! I think you need to take a break and go to the sea. I hope you are doing well, I have been thinking of you.

The place is so amazing with blend of nature and war museum . Hope you had great day .Sea breeze is always connecting to my soul whenever i go to beach . Just throw all the daily work stress at office and chill yourself at somewhere at beach with pint of local beer.
It is the best, isn't it? The sea is such an invigorating piece of nature! It was a lovely trip and I keep going back and back, it is so lovely through all of the seasons!

YOU will love the rocky coast of Maine! All coasts are not alike though! :) It will be fun when Covid is over and you can start wandering about. I expect that you will be like a kid in a candy store. I know I am. :)

Aww, Acadia... I was there in the summer of 2010, long before I started to be interested in photography so the only picture I have from there is this random miserable blurred shot of the rocks.
But I still remember how beautiful this place was. Thanks for sharing your amazing pictures from there.
Happy Market Friday! :)
That looks about how mine did too. I loved to vacation and travel and used to buy postcards because pictures from a cheap camera were terrible.
It is a really beautiful place, especially for someone who loves nature as you do. Thanks so much for sharing your story and for stopping by and leaving your words. The picture is hilarious, I have a million just like it. Have a great day!
#MarketFriday loves you!
BTW @phortun, I was shocked you were able to locate a shot of it so quickly. I have been taking pictures much less time than you and it takes me forever to find anything.
How unorganized! How do you file them and do you cross-file them also?
Haha that´s a good question :) Well, as someone with a pretty severe OCD, I generally like to have my stuff organized and ordered :D As far as photos are concerned, I have a separate file (album) in my laptop for every country (in some cases even region or city) that I visit. It´s quite easy to retrieve photos you need then as you know exactly where to reach...
I got into photography at the height of the kid's education and I was homeschooling, so between horse riding lessons, tennis, soccer, boy scouts, girls scouts, explorer club, academic decathlon, football, baseball, Latin club, Spanish club, Officers Wives Club... Oh and running the house, etc... I never got enough time to pretend I was organized.
There was plenty of fun in between, but, totally crazy days.
Woow! That´s some serious multitasking :) No room for organizing indeed :) Totally understandable. I would never be able to do so many things. You have my utmost respect :)
Acadia national park is big enough and have historic place and its a very special place too. Such a big place is marked in market friday, and granite stone is looking special too.

Thank you, Denise. I know how busy you're with all what you're doing in the real life, and how it's not easy to manage the community alone. It's really ok :-) 💗💗💗
Beautiful! I am actually visiting family in Maine right now. Was going to visit Acadia but things came up. Thank you so much for sharing!
Too bad! Acadia is so beautiful! Maybe you can reschedule! It is starting to get cooler in Maine now! The pleasure for sharing is all mine!

Once again you surprise with your #marketfriday post, a true travelogue. A journey in a place so beautiful and generous in views and landforms, from the mountains to the ocean. I'm glad I got to see the place you love so much that you go there several times a year. I'd do the same if I were nearby... I didn't understand how far it was from your house.
I really like that you mix up the topics and soften the rules. If there's anything I don't like about Hive, it's the rigid and exclusive communities, so proud of their superiority. Of course, I understand the rationale for having rules and exclusivity but it kind of deviates from the much-vaunted absolute freedom that blockchain offers.
My participation is modest and please believe me it is not false modesty. Lately, I am failing to do what I set out to do.
What If We Imagined It?
I do love this place and it is convenient for me to travel there. I go many places several times a year, but, the distance is not great and little planes are the way to get there from here. It's fast and easy.
It is a plane ride or a long trip, at least 10 hours diving. Maybe a little less if there is no traffic.
I am so happy that I can be flexible for the community, after all, things have changed because of Covid and we really have to make some allowances. I have veered off the path sometimes, but, it is that or I have nothing. :))
You are so modest. It is not that you are failing, you are so busy with hands in many pots and you are a perfectionist. I love your posts and you delight me with them every time.
So shhhhh! Let me read it. :) Oh, Dan! @bluemoon Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving your words, and dropping your link. I appreciate it!

Sure, flying is a solution to save time. Otherwise, by car, you take the same time as I do to get to Thassos. It's so nice, one of the ultimate pleasures, to go to places you like, where you meet people you know, where you visit places you can't get bored of! Beyond wishing my close family well, my children to have a beautiful and independent life, for me remains the joy of traveling to places that are close and that I love.
Your post now shows me that you feel the same way.
You know I do! :) Because of work, sometimes a small plane that will get you there in hours as opposed to a whole day or two becomes practical. Otherwise, lack of time would become the reality.
Have a great weekend, Dan!
https://ecency.com/hive-196308/@maestroali/dead-sea-gifts
Well done! Great! I really love national parks. Now, due to the coronavirus, it is not possible to visit them.
Thank you so much! We have most of the parks open as they are outdoors. I hope it all ends soon for us!

Oh I dont know, looks mighty harsh to me, not to mention chilly. Cold water. Cold granite. Maybe a mosquito haven. Much fun to visit of course, but it would have to be in summertime! However, I do think I should open a coffee shop there. Perhaps partner up with @c0ff33a !! I think it could be a big, big hit :)
Happy to report I have my link in already!
https://peakd.com/hive-196308/@old-guy-photos/seasonal-boomer-rant-yet-again
It is actually not harsh at all, but, it is challenging to do some of the hiking. Still in all, it is always fun and the water isn't too chilly yet. Soon!
A coffee shop with you and @c0ff33a is perfect! You would love the charming town with all those turn of the century, one-of-a-kind mansions. Thanks for stopping by and leaving your words and dropping your link!

Well, that was a lovely visit to Arcadia!
It is so interesting.. the water, the rock formation, the fauna. and ooh, the shops... the decoy duck and other forms of birds They don't have pelicans...
Thank you, @dswigle. I loved it!
https://hive.blog/hive-124452/@silversaver888/what-shall-we-do-without
It was a lovely visit! Isn't it such a wonderful place if you are a nature lover, They actually did have pelicans, I just couldn't show off all the birds he had carved.
The shops are always fun. Meet you there next time! :)

very beautiful scenic area. it's great that you enjoyed walking in this park. oh no, I would not like to stand on that bridge when the wave rises there))) the orchid is really very beautiful! I also liked the birdhouses in that store
https://ecency.com/hive-196308/@tali72/outlet-store-at-the-dead
It was amazing, @tali72 so much beauty right before my very eyes! I did enjoy it and the splash wasn't too bad. When it got more violent, I moved!
I love those birdhouses!!!! We should buy one!

That was a fun adventure. It's crazy to think about what the glaciers did. Where I am in Colorado was all a good mile beneath a glacier about 10,000 years ago. There is evidence of glacial activity everywhere if you know what you're looking for. So cool.
Isn't it crazy? I think so too! I cannot even wrap my head around glaciers and 10,000 years ago!

That is my kind of place to visit love everything about it and that thunder hole wouldn't want to get caught up in there, it's a no return thunder hole :)
It is a pretty phenomenal place if you are into nature, which I believe we both are. Thunder Hole is amazing when you're standing right near an end you can hear the water rushing in and crashing on the rocks. There is no way I would want to be in that hole! All in all, it was a wonderful trip and no matter how many times I go there, I just love it!

I would imagine it would be pretty phenomenal experience, I would enjoy seeing that very much you never know where life can led you, I will place that on my bucket list that's for sure. I have had a pretty busy week and was unable to do a #marketfriday for you but may try to do one tomorrow.
You have a great Sunday @dswigle :)
Indeed it was an incredible experience and one that I would not mind doing it again soon. Of course I say that and I've been there time and time again but it's pretty low-key and so that gives me the incentive to returned again. Loki in that I don't have to make preparations to go. I can just decide to go one day and hop in a little plane oh, and be there in a couple hours. The drive is far too long with too many other commit spot if you have the time it's a beautiful drive. Never worry about the markets because you know I'll be here next week. I do so love what you put in but I also know that you only have so much time on your hands. Balance my friend!
#MarketFriday still loves you!
That really is convenient when you can just hop on a plane at anytime and enjoy a weekend there if, I had more time on my hands, I would be doing that myself as it is no more then a couple of hours flight to any beautiful destination like south or north of Thailand.
Well I did manger to do a #marketfriday today and have dropped the link in your #marketfriday post.
Thank you @dswigle you have a lovely week :)
Such beautiful pics, perhaps the Tourism Board of Maine could use this post 😁. As I was reading the post, I kept wondering if there were gonna be any crabs or crab crates involved. I guess that is my stereotype of Maine, nothing but huge forests and crab fishermen, both perfect subjects for photography.
Haha! Doubtful. Noooo! It's Maine! Lobster is their thing~!! You nailed it, just like you have been there. :)) Lobster shacks all along the water! @justinparke

Yes, my hand is up for a trip to Bar Harbor. As long as there is espresso coffee and yummy food in a cafe or two to be enjoyed in between the shops, National Park and Granite Mountain I can't wait.
Fabulous photos and post Denise, I can see why you come this way a few times or more a year. Wishing you a fun happy day 💜

Oh, and so much more! Actually, the whole park is made up of Granite! It is pretty amazing! Thank you for stopping by and giving the post some love!

Oh those photos are really encouraging me to visit this lovely part of Maine. One day when the world is open and safe again. 🌹
That little town looks awesome, I've never seen granite in its natural form before looks amazing @dswigle, and the market looks very inviting with all those carved items. Thank you for sharing and congratulations. Love your posts.
Thank you so much for the words, @artywink ! Isn't that town adorable? So walkable and everything you need right there. It is kind of cool seeing all that granite, but, they do have quarry's around there that they take it out of. The granite that is near the coast has gone through so much with the constant water pelting it.
I love the store Into the Woods! I go there every time I am up there. :))Thank you! I was surprised and very pleased to have placed so well.
