Stones, Roses And A Bee

This morning I felt like having some time for myself, to enjoy nature and recharge my battery. This means going to the park, have some fresh air and enjoy silence. This is needed from time to time and has some amazing effects on me. It's available, cheap as well, so why not use it as therapy.

It's been ages since my last visit, so I had no idea what I'm going to find there, except for the roses, which are opening now, depending on the type.

I was hoping to find fresh stones by now. Each year they are refreshing the stones covering the walking space in the park, but this year either there will not be new stones, or maybe later.

Regardless, I still took a few shots as I love these tiny stones, photographed from close as they look huge.

Some of the roses are open and already withering.

Busy Bee

The most important thing of the day was this bee. Obviously it wasn't the first time when I saw a bee, but have never watched one from so close as it can be dangerous. I'm not allergic to bees, but still prefer to stay away from them.

Watching it work was a true pleasure, even though I was constantly afraid I would go too close to it and end up with it on my camera.

This is a historical moment for me as I've never taken such a close photograph of a bee and I'm happy because now I can study it from closer.

While I was taking hundreds (ok, I won't lie, maybe tens) of photos, I was thinking that we, here on Hive are often called bees and that if we would work as hard as this poor creature, life would be better for everyone.

How many times I see people demanding as they feel entitled, even though they do nothing to deserve what they are demanding.

There's no entitlement when it comes to bees, they have to work hard every day.

I don't like to photograph insects and rarely do as the chances to catch some on camera are slim to none and don't like them either, but this was a lot of fun. Plus I owe it to @livinguktaiwan as he's been DEMANDING the insect photos since last autumn. So, what do you say? Is this good enough for you? 😁 It has to be as this is the last one! I don't think I'll have another occasion. I'm not gonna go looking for insects!

You took some very nice (and brave :D) close ups of that fellow Hive member :) For some reason, I often get various insect close ups as entries in my nature photography challenge. But they are mostly bugs, butterflies, grasshoppers and other harmless creatures. I mean not everyone would be this brave to do an intimate photoshoot with bees as the models :) Good job, fearless Erika! :)
