Frozen Flowers at Dawn

(Edited)

Hi everyone ! This weekend we were in the countryside and I have to say, we were spoilt for choice when it came to cold mornings. Over the last few years, I've got into the habit of getting up early before the sun. It's rare for me to break the rule, and you know the saying "the early bird catches the worm" !

My walk this morning began with a short tour of the garden, but the thousand and one things I found there will make for a more complete and detailed article. Nevertheless, I decided to share these umbellifers, all frozen like big snowflakes.

Then I decide to set off along the path that leads to the house, towards the fields and many other walks. Soon, not far from one of the first ponds, I find these brambles, with which I have a little photographic fun. As I do every day, I'm equipped with my Nikon D5500 camera and its 35mm lens.

There were other plants and flowers there, but it was the brambles that I decided to work with the most.

DSC_2945.JPG

The colours were pretty amazing and I have to say I may have stayed there for a good twenty minutes. It was something like -5°, and it's a good thing I had my gloves on !

The interesting thing about this time of day is that the lights change so quickly. Once you've spotted what you want, there's no time to dawdle, you just have to get on with it. Right now, I'm a little higher up, on a hill at the edge of a field.

And along the barbed wire, I find a whole bunch of dried flowers that have withstood the onset of winter and are playing with the fence. Once again, I just stood there for a while, enjoying the show.

"Unfortunately" I don't have a good lens, at least not one that can get as close as I'd like. But I'm still happy with these images and I hope you enjoy them too !

Thanks for your visit, take care and see you soon,

<3

Very pretty, even with a macro lens.

You mentioning your DSLR cam reminds me of my Canon 7D days ( mainly for filmmaking, between 2013 to 2016 and before that as the camera of my camera guy/ editor, from 2010 to 2013)

How time flies.

Love it when you're out walking on a day like this, with a sharpness in the air and a light crunch underfoot. Sadly, I'm not very good at getting up early so have to look forward to those days when the cold weather lingers.

Yes, the crunch of frozen leaves solidified by the thin layer of frost! I really love that too !

I hope you'll have some delicious and freezing morning like this during this winter :)

Thank you @benwesterham ✌️

I've got into the habit of getting up early before the sun.

I would like to be able to do that... But, at the moment, I'm closer to going to sleep just before the sun goes out... 😃 It's hard to get up before 8 when you go to sleep after 2... 😃

Beautiful photos and my favorite is, of course, the one with sun rays... My wife is always joking about my obsession with sunrays in photos... But, there is something "mystic" in them, especially, early morning, maybe a bit of fog...

Thanks for sharing!!!

Haha ! it's not easy everyday, but as my companion go to bed early and need like 3-4 hours of sleep more than me, it's in fact quite doable... But before that, I was more in the team who was going to bed super late too 😅

Sunrays, I can't agree more with you, those are really mystic indeed, just the fact that it's the materialization of the physical phenomenon is already all for me... Even without talking about the beauty of the thing !

Have a lovely day ahead dear @ph1102 ✌️
