New Tunes 15.11.2024
Hello, music lovers! 🎶
Friday is here! And, of course, we've got a fresh selection of #newtunes, the latest music from well-known and lesser-known musicians to brighten up the weekend and beyond.
Eight tracks of different genres - something for everyone, I could say - and if you have a few minutes, support the artists by listening. If you like it, music lovers will dig even deeper.
But if it's not your taste, skip it.

Javva - Surv
Javva is a Polish band from Warsaw. They have been playing for five years and released their second studio album, Picaros, at the end of September.
A lively dance-rock genre blending math-rock, post-punk, beats, Saharan guitars, and Bosphorus accordions.
Nubya Garcia - We Walk In Gold
Nubya Garcia is an English musician and composer based in London. She is a new name to me, and her debut album is Odyssey. The music is jazz-based, with hip-hop, afrobeat, and dub immersed in it. As a violinist and saxophonist, she also played all the string and brass parts on the album. Georgia Anne Muldrow sings vocals on the song We Walk In Gold. The arrangements are excellent; the song even reminds me of some Bond themes.
Kate Young - Dandelion
Kate Young is a Scottish musician and composer from Edinburgh. Her primary instruments are the violins, and she incorporates ancient and traditional folk music from around the world into her songs. She calls her music chamber pop. Her third album, Umbelliferae, was released at the end of September. The album is dedicated to dandelions or nettles, and she sings admiringly of the plants while becoming one of them.
BaBa ZuLa - Pisi Pisi Halayı
Baba Zula is a five-member Turkish group from Istanbul. They have been playing since 1996, mainly Turkish classical music called Taksim, but mixing it with Western psychedelic and electronic sounds. I had the chance to see them live once, and they were great.
Their new album, İstanbul Sokakları, released last week, is even more pronounced in its blend of electronica and traditional wired instruments.
Fleur - Fille Sauvage
Fleur is a Dutch singer who is more or less based in Paris. A new name for me, the album of the same name as the song, released on 8 November, is her third. Her music is pure sixties garage rock, sometimes spiced with African rhythms and even electric piano. She also has a garage trio behind her, The Krying. You will love this if you are a fan of The Trogs, The Monks, or Nancy Sinatra.
Confidence Man - SICKO
Confidence Man is an Australian band from Brisbane, which is a new name for me. They've been mainly making dance music since 2016.
In October of this year, they released their third album, '3AM (La La La). ' The song 'Sicko' is from this album and sounds like an homage or flashback to the golden years of Happy Mondays.
Mugger - Not The One
Mugger is a new punk rock band from Austin, Texas. Their debut album, Luck Forever, is out today.
Raw, primal 70s punk rock that will appeal to fans.
Hippie Death Cult - Toxic Annihilator
Hippie Death Cult is an American trio from Portland, Oregon. They have been playing a mix of metal, psychedelic, and stoner since 2018. They have released three albums; the song Toxic Annihilator, for which they shot a video at the end of October this year, is from their latest album, Helichrysum.
I had the chance to record them in February this year when they were on tour in Europe and came to our club. Here, if anyone is interested in a lo-fi clip.
🎶That's all for today, and enjoy your weekend with new songs!

It might be crazy, but it is nice to see a post dedicated to songs and music every now and and a while....
Why crazy? I'm a music lover and follow new music regularly. And I share what I think it's interesting. Sometimes, someone likes some of it. 😎
I do like some of that. What I meant was that not many crestors posts about bands, playlists, personal opinions and thoughts about the music itself.
Yes, I understand that. But we, music lovers, we keep going! 🎶 😎
Nubya Garcia, of course, went straight to the bulletin board above my desk.
In the tradition of influenced folk music, Kate Young pleasantly delivers exactly what you would expect.
The comparison of Fleur with Nancy Sinatra must be very painful for the Dutch singer. The before mentioned American with a famous father has no singing ability whatsoever. She is what I would like to call a disaster on two legs.😮
Haha, but don't be so ruthless. Nancy can't compare with her father, but that's why she's a garage. 😎
