The Most Beautiful And Sweet Lullaby - Three Tune Tuesday (#101)
I still don't know who to thank for not dying before I learned about the internet and before I had access to this wonder that has fallen upon our world. I expect not everyone to be as ecstatic as I am, and, of course, there are many inconveniences that have come to us with the internet. They're right too.
I am referring here to the benefits brought by the internet and the fact that nothing can be good in its entirety and we have to put up with the bad in exchange for the benefits. Now I don't want to talk about all the benefits brought to the world by the internet. I don't know all of them, just as I don't know the dark side of the phenomenon.
I am only interested in the extraordinary opportunity we now have to access the "world's database". To each his own. Now I'm talking about music.
We have the opportunity to search and find whatever interests us. We find even more than we are interested in and we don't even have time to listen to everything we find.
On top of that, we don't need vinyl, cassettes, CDs, etc...
A simple internet connection and a smartphone and all the music in the world are at our disposal!
I find it incredible and miraculous!
I'm going back to a pleasant surprise, to this challenge launched by @ablaze, #ThreeTuneTuesday, which gives us the opportunity to play some of the music we like. There are so few places like this where people talk about and, more importantly, share, with examples, their love for music.
Three Songs
That's all we have to do, share three songs that mean something to us. I like that, I like to find a connection between the songs I choose and the simplest and strongest connection is when all three belong to the same singer. So far I am at that level in my postings.
For this post, I will ask my niece Ilinca for help. A help she gives me without knowing it, she is only three years and a few months old. I will only borrow her image, an image from my photos, of course. I will use some older photos from when Ilinca was two years old.
I know I have to write about music and not about family and children. That's what I'm doing, but Ilinca has her part to play in this introduction...
Ilinca is my only granddaughter. From the moment I became a grandfather my somewhat monotonous life as a pensioner suddenly changed.
I discovered something I didn't notice when Ilinca's father was as young as she is, and I was about a "mountain" of years younger.
I saw how a child sees the world, how she tries to understand it, to learn. How she lives without lies and pretense.
To make a long story short, I'm crazy about her and my desire to protect her is enormous. Because of this, when I listen to this Greg Lake song I can't help but cry!
Watching Over You - Emerson, Lake & Palmer
I watched her sleep many times and thought of the song above.
Nothing can be more enjoyable than watching a child grow up. It's not easy, especially when you're old and nervous, but you get a lot of lessons from a child who, of course, doesn't know he's giving them to you.
Getting back to the topic, i.e. music, Greg Lake I think is the voice I like most in rock music.
In the spirit of the three choices, I'd like to recall two more songs. Before I say that what these songs have in common is called: Emerson, Lake & Palmer!
From The Begining - Emerson, Lake & Palmer
This supergroup, EL&P!
Emerson and Lake died in 2016 and Palmer recently had heart surgery.
Palmer, who underwent an atrial fibrillation ablation to fix an irregular heartbeat, thanked fans for their support in a video posted to Facebook. “I just want you to know I’m back home now, feeling really good,” he said. “It was about a two-hour procedure,” Palmer continued. “And I’m just gonna take the next two or three days just to kind of recuperate. Life as a musician, at that level, is hard, with serious health consequences.
Without any relation to music, I, too, have the same disease as Carl Palmer and in a week I will see what the doctor decides about the surgery...

Yes, we are lucky to have lived in such an era. Throught internet, we can bring any data to our feet. However, I wonder whether we can get the taste of things as in past because if one can reach something without much effort, the value of it could decrease.
You are absolutely right internet has one benefit of course, when a person is in a bad mood, he is most often right when he listens to his favorite song. Hearing and watching favorite things gives a lot of peace to one's mind and I have a famous singer of Pakistan who is no more in this world.

You are so funny @bluemoon! I had to laugh at your opening paragraph. It's true. Internet has its wonderful advantages ..... buuuuuuut .... it also is not so wonderful.
As far as being a grandparent, while I don't know yet how it feels, I can imagine it is totally different to being a parent. You get to enjoy all the special parts of the little person growing up without the frustration. Have you heard the expression; the best thing about being a grandparent is that you get to hand them back at the end of the day!
The internet, as a tool is good, it has changed so many things in our lives and brought so much progress and change..., unfortunately, people, many of those who populate and use the internet are not good at all. They are toxic and dangerous.
Grandparents have an advantage, as you say... but they were parents too, right?
Exactly! And their reward is to get all the beautiful parts without the naughty - hopefully 😉
Well said man, I think it is unreal too, I remember having to save up money for my weekly trips to the record shop and then having to pick out one or two CDs, then they started doing deals like 3 CDs for €20 and I was loving it. I still have those CDs stacked in my shed someplace, but like you know it is Spotify and Youtube that I use to listen and I can listen to anything and everything whenever I want. We become a bit normalised to it then, imagine having to give up Spotify! I shudder at the thought!

Ilinca look like a little dote and she is very lucky to have a Grandad who cares for her so much. That song Watching Over You by Emerson, Lake & Palmer id very special especially when you dedicate it to your little Grand daughter like that, good on you.
Somehow I had never heard of Emerson, Lake & Palmer until reading this and listening along, what a great find.
