Do you collect rare money bills? My uncle used to do that (and collect stamps too) when he was young.~

₱200 bills not rare, but only uncommon in the Philippines! 🤓😅

To give you an idea, there is roughly one ₱200 bill for every ten ₱100 bills in the Philippines! 😏

Oh!! ...This reminds me, we have many uncommon bills in Libya too... In fact, I don't think I ever saw the new 100 LYD bill which was issued a few years ago. Even people dealing with thousands of LYD are doing so with 50 LYD bills.

Because ₱200 bills in the Philippines are already uncommon, Filipinos tend to collect them, making even less of those bills available in circulation in the country! 😅

Thanks for the !PIZZA! 😀 Have some !LUV too on behalf of @savvyplayer! 😁

My first thought after reading this: "Yay, deflation!" But it doesn't work that way with paper money...

When these papers become obsolete, (which I for the people's sake I hope doesn't happen soon,) they might skyrocket to hundred times their current worth though.

It really won't sound like deflation on first read because when people collect a particular paper bill, they will tend to spend more of the other types of bills for their expenses. 🤓

Anyway, do you mean that when the paper bills become obsolete, they will skyrocket in price because collectors will pay a lot for them? 🤔

Thanks for the !PIZZA! 😀

Yes, but I'm talking about the specific paper bills, not all paper money in general, usually when the political situation of a country changes.

It happened twice in my lifetime in Libya. Paper bills from 15 years ago no longer have monetary value except to collectors...

Do you mean that paper bills in your country from 15 years ago have 100 times more value to the collectors, and 100 times less value to non-collectors? 🤔

Could be, but I honestly didn't think that far...

Waitamin! That means someone can get rich quickly by abusing this!!!

It has to be ancient to reach that sort of value. I mean, museums-wiil-buy-it-from-you level of ancient!

In the Philippines, nearly all bill collectors won't pay beyond 5 times the value of the deprecated bill. 🤓 Some of them will even offer you the same amount for your devalued bill, citing the reason that you won't be able to use it anyway! 😅

Yeah... I imagine this happening in Libya too. People aren't so naive these days.

I imagined if there is such thing as "deprecated cryptocurrency coins". 😆😅

Have some !LUV on behalf of @savvyplayer with this joke! 😁

Not happening. !LOLZ

...if there is such thing as "deprecated cryptocurrency coins". 😆😅

What the collectors are buying is the #paper, not the monetary value. Cryptocurrency, (at least the "fungible" tokens) are only monetary value.

That will happen to NFTs though!

I don't think NFTs are part of cryptocurrencies, though they can be used for barter trades! 🤔🤓😅

I too don't think of them as part of cryptocurrencies, but the only difference between both as technologies is that one is #fungible and the other isn't.
