Greetings JAMIN people!
Yesterday I took a trek up in the hills to be closer to JAH and closer to self. The real ones know what I mean. I brought my camera along to snap anything interesting as I hiked. Luckily I saw these Woodpeckers and unlike most birds I was trying to photograph, they did not pay much attention to my presence.

The species is know as the Japanese pygmy woodpecker (コゲラ) or Kogera in Japanese. It can be found in Russia, China and Korea as well, usually in areas with a lot of greenery. The Pygmy is extremely small, I thought is was a baby at first but this is an adult. Their beaks are very pointy and symmetrical, perfect for piercing into wood. But with that tiny size, I wonder if they leave any damage? Here are some more photos I took of the Pygmy.

And in true APART ( A picture and A Reggae Tune) culture, here is a song by Snagga Puss called Woody Woodpecker released in 1995 by Vibes Crew, Shocking Vibes Records. Snagga always brought the humor into the Dancehall and he was quite an animated character. Listen how he flips the idea of the character, the Woody Woodpecker and makes it into Dancehall materiel. Only in Dancehall folks, only in Dancehall 😀.

Click the banner to learn more about #APART. It is quite a simple challenge. Post an original picture and link to a reggae song. The picture should have some connection to the Reggae song in someway, anyway. The only limit is your imagination.😉

Of to work now. Thanks for the laugh and the newest addition to one of my Spotify playlist. There are definitely some people at work that would be diagnosed with needing a woody woodpecker. xD

Ah the sound is so classic and like you said the humor is a welcoming addition to this style of music. And the way he made the "woodpecker sound" definitely made me bob my head to it haha.

Yeah they had some interesting characters in the music, I think he went on to start making roots energy drinks and is quite the businessman. Not too many comedians in Dancehall these days.
