This is the second time I have bought this cactus.
Damn it! I really have a problem, yesterday afternoon I was bored and decided to go out to take a few pictures, the truth is that I didn't take any and in the end I found myself in a nursery, (one of the few, or the only one that was open on Sunday afternoon) I ended up buying a small cactus of which I already have one, I bought it in May of last year, but let's see this new friend while I tell you the story.
When I saw this cactus I immediately remembered the one I bought last year, the difference is that the first cactus brought flowers and cost me much more money than this one that I bought yesterday, what they do have in common is the amount of new cactus that came in with the plant, in fact I removed 12 children that I already put in new pots, I removed them because they already have roots and can live on their own, so this time I will be successful with the babies.
I still left some of the small cacti on the main cactus, the small cacti that had roots came from one side of the mother plant, this is how it looked after removing the young cacti.
Doing memory in time, I remember that @ewkaw told me that probably this would be a type of lobivia, you can see the post here, the truth is that the cactus was very nice although it had a big problem and it was that it had mealybug when I bought it, my inexperience played against me and I think I am the guilty of damaging the cactus.
It has lost its shape, it looks old, neglected, sunburned, but even so it is about to give me a couple of new flowers, the one that began to grow first is not yet fully grown, but I saw that a new bud is about to come out.
I will be more careful with this new cactus, and as it is acclimated to the shade, I will take more time to get it used to sunlight or partial shade, for the moment it will receive light under the shadow mesh from 11 AM to 5 PM, after that it will receive the rays of direct sun, although at that time they are not so strong, I hope that in a month I can leave it in direct sun light, time will tell.

It is a new nice plant. It might happen that flowers will have different colours. Fingers crossed.
And the old one does look a little poor. Well.. some of mine look like that too. They are still growing and blooming, but just don't look that nice. Happens.
Hopefully it will have a new color, I will see what happens in the following months or next year because I doubt that this year it will have flowers, but well, we know that it is a slow process and we must be patient.

The suffering plant looks like it was attacked by spider mites but it is recovering, the crown looks good. Loblivia don't seem to like too much sun and the best way I have found to get rid of red spiders is to keep them somewhere cool that is exposed to the morning dew so outside under the trees is good
