#1 Logo For the HIVE India Community

Introduction

Firstly I'd like to mention that I recently did a Logo/Badge for the @indiaunited Community. In a post titled the India Hive Badge, I created a Hive Badge that could be used for a badge account to award people across the pallet for achievements towards posts or causes related to India. I hereby also give special thanks the the @indiaunited community for their kind support. Thank you @indiaunited and @bhattg for also discovering the post and commenting on it.

@nathanmars recently created a Community called the India Hive Community. In this post I will make some suggestions for a square profile image for this awesome new group Nathan created.

Although I think that Team Australia or Team America, team...etc. is all good, but very reminiscent of Soccer or War. Borders in my eyes are understandable when it comes to preserving cultures and traditions, but it also created xenophobia amongst people who are scared to loose it. Is that at all necessary in a global world evolving with respect? I think that a lot of campaigns out there promote things like cultural appropriation to undermine our curiosity and they often have nothing to do with counter measures against racism. I don't find it offensive is someone in Europe would walk around in a traditional Indian dress and I like wearing a kimono without having to give a sh**. There are currently a lot of politically motivated ways to separate people and these are in favour of the campaigners to own the narrative. I do not intend to offend any movement with my statement, but I encourage anyone to look into the misunderstandings they intentionally cause as well as the division amongst us. In a global society that is borderless and permissioness, moving towards decentralised autonomous organisations, most of us are already evolved enough to bring along the kind of profound forms of respect, appreciation and a proficient understanding needed for a globally decentralised world .

While creating these Communities it is important to unite with our etymological differences as a global humanity and one species fighting for the same freedoms. Freedoms from the slavery of the current monetary system with it's restrictions, putting us in shackles. In Switzerland the Frank stood for liberty and meant that it should make you free. When that is what money should rather be than to bind us to the obligations of regulators or the government, then we should all question their true motives. Away from fiscal politics...

In India before during the Song and Tang Dynasty in China and before Kublai Khan took over China was a quite different place. A time before the Mongol Invasions. Also known as the Golden Age of Asian History, all of Asia was United by a Culture of Mahayana Buddhism, Chan/dhyāna Buddism, Taoism and Hindu cosmological thought. All of this also defined an Asian philosophy or way of thinking that differs from western approaches of separation. Some of these Asian philosophical perspectives still prevail to this day. It views entities as parts of a whole rather than each separate. Mostly Newtonic and Darwinistic in nature these views are now changing to become more holistic due to many branches of science such as Quantum Physics, Microbiology, Systems Biology etc. I shall elaborate on this in another posts.

At a time until the mid 12th Century before the 11th century in India, there was a frequent exchange of knowledge between universities which were thought to have been buddhist temples. These included Astronomy, Mathematics and other profound philosophies that united a greater Asia. This culture that spanned these lands had existed in it's glory for almost a 1500 years of maintaining peace and were motivated by a philosophy that promoted vegetarianism and non violence in many parts of Asia. These cities or forts at the time were often enclosed settlements separated by forests and isolated from the savagery of nomadic tribes that often resorted to violence. Their social practices within these settlements were partly highly civilised compared to big cities today. Specially when it came to the murder of innocent living beings.

Sanskrit was used and spoken in many other Asian countries spanning Mahayana Buddhist thought all the way to Japan with one out of several major Universities located in India. Today that place is still known to have the highest illiteracy rate in India. Due to consecutive invasions a lot of knowledge was thought to have been lost or is also still hidden until today. Recently the University of Cambridge has started releasing some of these manuscripts on Mathematics that were apprehended during British colonial rule in India. These show a far greater understanding about the sciences than even the greeks than previously assumed, present throughout Asia.

The Idea of a Greater India or Bharat, was something I always envisioned. A larger Asian Community on Hive similar to the ASEAN HIVE COMMUNITY or #hive-141359, but that unifies this Idea for anyone. This would be highly anticipated in my eyes. Maybe another Community that includes Sri Lanka, Combodia, Thailand, China, Japan, Myanmar, Bhutan, Indonesia, Malaysia etc. even the Philipines. The philosophies of Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, their art and the remnants of this golden age once unified Asia.

While writing this, I thought a visual representation of such a logo as a flag or code of arms that refrains from using any patriotic, religious or governmental symbolism but still something cultural and artistic might seem nice. An Idea for a Greater Asia Hive community would please me. I can imagine the various martial arts, pottery, yoga, tai chi, chi gong, traditional practices, vegan food like indo-Chinese, Japanese microbiotic cuisine, and art forms to be showcased. We would be able to discuss and find out where these traditions originated. Other tribes on hive could support this in all their stability in similar topics.

The Logos

In this post I took that Idea for my previous India Badge and changed it up. I created a different version with an H specially for @nathanmars and the recently created India Hive Community.

Another Version, #3 :

or with a hexagon:

India_hexagon (1).png

Again, all the Logos I created here were inspired and created using a blueprint from @roelandp, who also created the original Hive Logo. The Hexagon that turns into a block is apparent in all the Logos. I tried to create this as a signature, time stamp and claim these ideas for Hive communities.

In a previous post titled A Hive Logo, I worked on an alternative version for a Hive Logo that I could use to create different versions for Swiss cities. Anyone on Hive living in those cities would organise monthly group meetings and award peakd badges to those who show up to those meetings physically.

Züri.png

I created a Zurich Badge that looks like blocks with the code of arms of Zurich City. The Badge is currently being used to award anyone who shows up at our monthly meetings in Zürich, Switzerland.

Since anyone who shows up to any meeting organised in Switzerland gets our Swissness Bage, I also decided to create Badges for other Swiss cities. I started with Basel and Lucerne.

Lucerne Badge

Due to the fact that we had a response from people in Basel and Lucerne, we'd like to help organise a meeting in those cities as well. If anyone from Basel or Lucerne is reading this or if you know anyone on Hive that lives there, kindly point them out or help us to get in touch. It would also be nice to get a comment. We are also considering Zug, as it's the home of Cryptovalley.

I also created a Swissness award or honours badge for very special contributions. This badge could go out to developers or to someone who committed to exceptional efforts or achievements towards community. We'd award anyone with this badge, supporting something on hive or also in relationship to the Swiss Hive Community that other community members agree or deem as special and agree on collectively.

Community Building

I recently started a Community with the help of @nathanmars, @phoenixwren, @jurich60 and @brittandjosie called Hive Rocks. The community was inspired by a movement called Swiss Rocks.

It's about painting rocks and abandoning them somewhere in the wild. Maybe on hikes etc. Creating treasure maps while posting the painting process, artists create guides for people to find them. Maybe someone could find such a painted rock randomly? This would promote hive as well. Artist label the rocks with their usernames in the back. Retrievers then post them and share their rewards with the artists who created them. By adding them as beneficiaries in the post settings, this encourages mindfulness, sharing and incentivising artists. After all, it's awesome if you can decorate your home with it and show appreciation to rock creators. Retrievers could even create NFT's from these Rocks and resell them. Here's an explanation and guide for Hive Rocks. Feel free to subscribe to our Hive Rocks community.

This is the Icon or Logo I created for Hive Rocks

I also created a Badge for the Hive Rocks community:

Hive_Rocks_Badge.png

Below in my footer, you can also see the Hive Rocks Community Banner. Anyone who creates art is free to use the banner once they joined the community, delegated to Hive Rocks or if they support the community by simply painting rocks and sharing them across the art communities on this blockchain.

Conclusions

Community building is important and we can't do it alone. I'd like to pay much respect to someone that truly inspired community building on Hive. That someone is @nathanmars. I personally think we could be enriched with more people with the kind of energy that Nathan brings to the table. I know we have them and more are joining. Specially with a community that needs to rely on itself, it's us who will make hive happen.

Looking forward to exciting times on Hive and to be blessed with the new arrival of many more amazing citizens within our Hivemind Communities.

All Designs were made using Inkscape. - It's an awesome open source software because I can't afford illustrator.

Thank you for reading.

"I speak to the many as one in the form of language. With all my other senses I express myself in ways that transcend it. Beyond the vocal or visual there are many other ways to reach the hearts of individuals. Beyond taste, music and movement there is mind that none can comprehend with the limitations of words. To understand you I must go beyond the laws set by humans and create new means and pathways of understanding." -@yangyanje

I agree with you about the country "teams" feeling; I didn't like it either, especially since Hive is one of the few places on the internet where I feel like there is more international interaction and not an algorithm feeding you alike content that is most likely local to you as well as the same political flavor and whatnot. That's why I started doing this in the long ago on that other blockchain:

team humans.jpg

But nobody joined me in #teamhumans so it was just me (this was pre-communities, so I mean just using the tag).

I just finished moving apartments - still have to set up the new one, lol - so I'm hoping to paint rocks soon but it'll probably be a while. My rocks are simple but I always see them snapped up when I leave them out. One time I found them strategically decorating a neighbor's garden, and then I saw other people leaving rocks in the same area! :)

@phoenixwren very relevant comment. Thank you for reading through all of it. I had no idea about it! This is such a great idea! #teamhumans! Since we created this swiss hive community, its been more about creating a space for anyone from anywhere to visit in Switzerland where hive has a home. How awesome if people would get a badge while they stop by at one of the local hive meetings? It's actually something i thought about as well.

Take your time with the rocks. I'm glad to have you here and connect with you. Really appreciate your lovely comment.

Amazing designs! 👏🌻 I like your choice of colour according to that specific country or region. Even though this is an open global community, I think it's nice to portray the individual drops as well and in this way integrate them in a larger unity.

@ceciliad.art Thank you my dear friend. Thats a really nice statement from someone who knows about colors. I can't wait to see your next post btw. Feel free to tag me anytime. Unity amongst all the tribes is crucial. Btw. At times one has to be lucky to be discovered here. It can depends on how many people are posting, who and when they see it, the community one uses as a category and who and when they reblog it. Really high quality content might get lost in the feed. Never sweat it.

Community building is important and we can't do it alone.

This is something everyone needs to remember including me.

Better to have people work with us than for us and decentralized social communities on hive helping us to form peer-to-peer relationships.

Truly appreciate all your uplifting messages.

The idea of creating an Indian community becoming a South Asian community. More I read your post, I feel like I should focus on creating a borderless community called and name it with numbers 777.

Thank you for your comment @nathanmars . Country communities are still great. Maybe that was a thought for the future. The fact that communities here support each other across the board makes it less of a separation. Borderless sounds great. Community accounts with delegations can really help support and encourage. In my opinion artistic things and digital painting, music, dance can make hive more appealing.

Community accounts with delegations can really help support and encourage.

100% agree.

One solution is to ask Hive whales directly
Another solution is to put up a DHF proposal for developing communities because community development is as much as valuable as technology development

Thank you so much for your valuable input @nathanmars i gotta look into the DHF proposal too.
