Morning Run: Feeling tired

Yesterday we were clearing the garden of a house that involved cutting up a bouncy castle as well as getting rid of lots of other junk. After several hours of that I was tired, dirty and suffering from some nettle stings. So I was not feeling at my best this morning. I need time to recover, but I needed to run today.

This was by the fields to the north of Arlesey. Those houses were not there when we moved here some years ago.

It is not a working day, so I had time for a longer run. I made it a variant of my usual loop around Fairfield and Stotfold. I was listening to podcasts, including Cryptomaniacs, but my AfterShokz bone conduction headphones leave my ears clear so I could hear all the birdsong going on. I could not identify them, but there seemed to be a variety of species singing.

Route

I managed to keep up a reasonable pace, but by 10km I was tiring and had a brief walk whilst I took a photo. It is just three weeks to my half marathon and I think I will be okay. I will rest on a few days before the race, but I am running it for fun.

Today was a good run. I have done a load more steps as we went out shopping. I am away for work this week, but will take my running gear and try for a run. It is always nice to run somewhere different.

Nice job on your run. I finally got back on the horse today and woke up at 4 to do my workout. My cold seems to be just about gone, so I thought I could give it a shot. I tried a new circuit training program. My arms are pretty much jello right now. I might have to adjust the difficulty down next time.

A 4am workout sounds crazy to me :) With all these things you just hope it does some good in the long run as the immediate effects can be tough.

Yes. To be fair, our first alarm goes off at 4. We usually snooze it a couple of times and actually get started with our workouts closer to 4:30. Done usually by 5:00 and then getting ready for work so we can be out the door around 6:00 AM.

Seems like a few of us are feeling a bit rough this week? Maybe there's a bug doing the rounds or pollen?
Cutting back weeds will release a lot of pollen.

I feel okay otherwise. Was mostly stingers and brambles to be cleared. Needed gloves.
