Friedrich Wilhelm Marpurg, Capriccio in F Dur
The next compositions from Marpurg's Fughe e Capricci per clavicembalo o per l'organo, after the Fuga a 3 voci in D major, is the Capriccio in F major. Marpurgs Capricci are mostly a sort of fast paced fugues and this one is no exception.
The Capriccio has a simple theme, that is not more than one motif, repeated three times at the interval of a secunde. And this theme leads to an exploration of the keys up to four or five sharps and flats. Though this piece was originally written for the harpsichord, it works very well on organ too.
The recording was done with the Hauptwerk software and the sampleset, made by Sonus Paradisi, of the Janke organ in the Stadtkirche of Bückeburg (https://www.sonusparadisi.cz/en/organs/germany/buckeburg-janke-organ.html).
