Splinterlands Voucher Winner

Last week I ran a prediction competition to see what everyone thought the price of Splinterland Vouchers would be on the date of 11/7/2021. I provided five options to choose from. The participants then picked an option to vote on which they thought was going to be most accurate. The winning group will now be put in a raffle to win a free Splinterlands Voucher.

Voting Options

  • Vouchers will be worth $10 or less
  • Vouchers will be worth $10.01-$15.00 USD
  • Vouchers will be worth $15.01-$20.00 USD
  • Vouchers will be worth $20.01-$25.00 USD
  • Vouchers will be over $25.01 USD

It was a close race but as the screenshots above show Option Three (15.01-$20.00 USD) was the correct price prediction. Option Three managed to secure 26/83 total votes. The least popular option was Option Five with 5/83 total votes.

The Voucher Winner

Congratulations @c01n-d0z3r! I guess vouchers are never coming down to the price range I guessed. I was really hoping they would be under $10 by now. I guess there is just too much enthusiasm for the new release, or is it FOMO running wild?

I suspect the price of Vouchers to take a big hit during phase one of general sale. They will only be needed for bonus packs which means if vouchers are $4+ it wouldn't make sense to use them for packs. It would make more sense to sell them and buy packs outright. FOMO might still have Vouchers being expensive. Its going to be interesting to see the outcome.

Thanks!! A vital sign of mercy, as I see it, lol. I honestly don't know how else the system could work in the intended capacity to reward holders in a scalable manner suiting the size of investments made. I am extremely shocked at the number of packs that HAVEN'T been sold due to the large number of vouchers hitting the market. I expect to see a pretty large chunk get scooped up a day or two before the sale ends, when the folks flooding the market with vouchers are "forced" to use them because they didn't sell on the market. Some folks are holding out as well, to buy the most they can at once I suspect. Will be watching the final count though, to see where we end up on the 1mil pre-sale pack count

I wonder if my expectation of higher voucher prices towards end of airdrop will come true. Have you already accomplished your Voucher goal @rentmoney?

I think you would be right that Voucher prices will be more costly then currently once the airdrop ends. There will be a one week period in which no Vouchers get airdropped but presale perks will still be in place. This is when I suspect to see ATH voucher prices.

As for my personal stash, my plans changed many times. Currently I'm just going to limp in with a 150 presale pack purchase and then get my bulk purchase in after the first three million sell.

It seems to be climbing up again. My only regret now is not buying Vouchers weeks ago lol

Sorry a follow-up question! Are you going to wait for your Vouchers to get the bonus packs or you will just buy it right away to avoid the risk of the packs selling out? I can't decide yet what I will do. Would love to hear your thoughts about this as well :)

Voucher prices continue to stay fairly high. Do you think the next round of vouchers (next 2 million packs) will also stay as high?

I don't think so but Splinterlands is unpredictable. The next round of 2 million packs will only require vouchers to be needed for bonus packs. It wouldn't make any financial sense to pay more then pack price for a voucher.

First phase consists of 2 million CL packs that requires vouchers

Really the ama summary mentions this so I don't think it works like that. Then again...I didn't watch the show itself and relied on the summary.

I could be wrong but I thought that was the plan on how general sale is going to work for the first two million packs. Afterwards the voucher requirement will be removed completely. *subject to change.

Indeed I was! I have unfortunately caused myself a very painful issue when I was attempting to swap out 2/3rds of my DEC for SPS the day the vouchers started. I took 65k DEC and exchanged it for 1130 SWAP.HIVE tokens on the HIVE market and for some reason I used the HIVE keychain to 'send' that SWAP.HIVE to my coinex account. I had no idea that the keychain 'send' function was not like the HIVE "withdraw" function which burns the SWAP variant and sends out plain HIVE tokens.. Now I'm going on my 4th week fighting with coinex to send it back to my HIVE wallet, and getting nowhere. TLDR of it, instead of predicted 25 vouchers, I'm getting 5.. This win will place me at 6, so I am extremely grateful for that.
