Splinterlands is getting tougher by the season.

New players and cards have added a new level of competition.

I know that the game seems to have gone quiet since the initial hype we saw leading up to the chaos legion drop but there are a lot of new players still active in the game.

All of the new cards have shifted the base of power more evenly compared to the previous campaigns where the same old faces ended in the same old places.

It had gotten fairly predictable so all of these new faces have made things a lot more interesting.

You do get sick of being beaten by the same guys over and over again so it's nice to get beaten by different people for a change.

I took a look at the top 10 and 20 and barely recognize the players right now. That will change by the end of season but as of today looking at the top ten there are only two players who started battling before 2021. All of the rest are now players that joined this year or alts but who have strong decks and brought fresh competition to the leagues.

Competition is good for growth.

A lot of people might not like this as they coasted for so long but in any game, competition is what drives progress.

It makes everybody put in more effort and drives sales and matches.

Sure we all like the rewards but when the game gets tougher it forces everybody to strengthen up their decks and to play a lot more games to achieve their targets.

We are all hoping for the game to expand ten fold over the next couple of years and see land add a whole new dimension to the game so all of this is helpful for long term growth.

the more players that we can get into the prizes the better and especially for tournaments. Spreading out the rewards wider can only benifit the game and it's userbase as they are the marketing team for the moment.

What message will be spread to the world if ten players win all of the prizes and keep getting stronger as opposed to 1000 players all winning smaller prizes and getting excited about the game. Telling others about their experience and bringing in more people to compete.

I love the rewards but to grow the game we need to see less going to the top 1% and more to the other 99%. The game is play to earn but it needs the ability to grind to the prizes and not have to buy your way there.

That's why cheaper card prices have made it so much more competitive for the newer players and the reward cards are making it far more interesting to the older players who now have more competition.

Try for yourself.

If you haven't played the game before then now is the best time to join. Today is much better than tomorrow and a lot better than later.

Cards worth a few cents now will have a much higher value in the future as the print runs out. We have a strong community and seen this happen every time as it grows with the game.

It's been alittle rough that was until I started opening packs like crazy and leveling up my untamed deck. Lesson there big rewards if you max out your deck asap.

As an investor in Chaos Legion Edition, it is nice to get confirmation from articles like this one, that the new edition has been so thoroughly planned as to be a real contender for the old Alpha-Pack-hoarders in the top 😆
Great article!

Absolutely, the new cards have really opened up the game and made it more competitive.
When the new tournaments launch we will see if it has worked there too.
Looking forward to it.

I have also noticed that it is a lot harder with each coming season. At least I know that my current line-ups are losing more often because of the new combination of cards my opponent's can use. Either way, I am perfectly fine at my current rank but I honestly wouldn't mind having a better win rate.

I tried the game and I agree that it is not as easy. I had to go back to basics and spend few hours to understand the rules and strategies.

Not easy but then it would not be any fun if it was.
Any game takes time to understand and master. It's where half the fun is.
Keep going and you will get there.

That's true. I am beginning to understand the details of the game. It should be fun.

This is the first article I read using the mobile app. Testing how this thing works.

Playing in the Bronze league with small budget I think will take several months to climb to Silver III. After reaching Silver III after six months, my goal now is to pull up my second son to Bronze I.

It can be done over time.
I would definitely suggest reading more articles and commenting as much as possible.
You will learn a lot and even earn some hive and other tokens that can be used in the game.
The higher that you go, the easier it gets.

Really? Thanks for the tip. Somehow, yes, I feel a little bit relax now after reaching Silver 3. I am now torn between two directions. Shall I wait for my family's accounts to climb also to Silver 3 before me leveling up? Or shall I go ahead and then pull them up later? Which do you think is a better way?
