powerdown complete...
A couple hours ago the last week of my 13 week powerdown went through. I'm not sure, but I think this is the first time I've gone the entire 13 weeks without canceling the unlock. I unlocked 1000 Hive a week for 13 weeks (13k total).
8k out of 13k is still in there.
So I've only moved around 5k Hive in the last 13 weeks, but still, I'm annoyed. I'd like to be accumulating during this time, not floating at 140k-150k Hive. At the end of the day I'm just a very low maintenance person and I hate spending money. I was just talking about how I've likely spent less than $10k in the last 12 months. As an American, it doesn't get much lower than that. Even people who work for minimum wage spend more than me the vast majority of the time.
On top of that, I view my Hive stack as part of my Hive reputation. Need moar Hive, amirite? The next big milestone is the ultimate one: WHALE. I'd have to triple up my stack and then some. I think I can do it... just not sure how long it will take. A few years ago I thought I'd never even get 5000 coins, let alone 50,000. The grind is slow, but progress is certain.

My take on the situation?
Giorgia Meloni is going to become a very popular figure within this political climate. Like Trump, she doesn't talk like a modern day politician. People like that. She fits right in with everything that's going on. A snapback is coming, and if Italy does descend into fascism, it's because the environment we created fishtailed it into that direction. Again, this is something we have to be paying a lot of attention to to filter out all the knee-jerk reaction bullshit being thrown at the situation.
Regardless of all of this, the propaganda against her was extremely mistimed. Her acceptance speech was good. Flawless even. And then to see the left reporting on the victory as "fascism" by people who are arguably fascists? Hm, yeah... you done fucked up with that one. Played right into her hand. Let's see where this goes.

Currencies around the world are tumbling. Except Bitcoin.
The cryptocurrency has risen 6.5 percent over the past seven days, bucking the trend as a strong dollar sinks other currencies.
The surging dollar is wrecking stock portfolios, clobbering commodity prices and sinking rival currencies. The British pound has been among the most volatile currencies against the dollar, tumbling 5.6 percent over the past seven days, and briefly hitting a record low on Monday of $1.0327.
But one asset has been relatively calm over the past week: Bitcoin. The cryptocurrency has risen 6.5 percent over the past seven days, a surprisingly strong run that has caught the eye of crypto bulls and bears.
“You know we’ve reached a unique time in history when #Bitcoin suddenly is less volatile than fiat currencies,” tweeted Sven Henrich, the founder of NorthmanTrader, a markets research firm. Mr. Henrich was one of the most prominent bears during the recent bull market, warning about overpriced assets like crypto.
When central banks raised interest rates, Bitcoin largely traded like risky assets, such as tech stocks. But that hasn’t necessarily been the case over the past month. Bitcoin has traded in the green (but only slightly) so far in September, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq is down nearly 10 percent over that period.
But zoom out further, and the picture looks more frightening for crypto bulls. Bitcoin has lost more than half its value in 2022, far underperforming stocks, bonds and most currencies.
Funny because it was only the title that mattered.

Many believe that Do Kwon needs to be brought to 'justice' for the systemic failure of the LUNA/UST ecosystem. Someone needs to be held accountable for this 'crime'.
If we need to cut the fat, I say we start right here...
Every single investor of the Terra/Luna ecosystem is at fault for pumping their liquidity into an ecosystem that was obviously flawed even with the most elementary analysis of the conversion mechanic. Anyone that knows how HBD works (haircut on the debt cap) could have looked at UST and been like... "No debt cap? That's eventually going to crash to zero." It was very obvious.
But instead what we saw was greedy institutional investors lining up to get their "free" 20% APR with "zero risk". Pumping UST without demand for collateral LUNA created a horrifically unstable debt-ratio situation that death-spiraled in a very predictable way. I remember during the DEFI craze when everyone was pumping money into everything, LUNA got talked about a lot. I took one look at it and was like, "I don't have time for that." It just seemed wrong right from the start, so I didn't even bother looking into it (let alone investing into it). Still anyone who timed it right made an easy 100x. Not too shabby.
People need to stop blaming others and take accountability for their own actions. Do Kwon already has paid for his crimes. His reputation is destroyed. No one will ever allow him to lead another project within the new world of abundance we are creating. Demanding that he be punished is the sign of a weak mind rooted in scarcity, imperialism, and the police state. It's not going to pump your bags or accomplish anything productive. It can only hurt the grassroots movement we have going here, if anything.
So why am I team Do Kwon?
Because today a greedy scammer is on the run, but tomorrow it could be anyone. It could be your hero that gets put on the Interpol red list. There is a war coming. A war that threatens to take power away from the elite. You think they're going to stop at Do Kwon? Of course they won't.
The longer he evades capture the more it proves that crypto billionaires can go underground and keep fighting from the shadows. That's powerful. I hope he never gets caught. Kudos to Do Kwon for being an international criminal and still maintaining a Crypto Twitter presence... lol that's badass. Doesn't even matter if it's him writing the Tweets or not. Simply the symbol of it all is quite powerful. The empire is losing their grip.
Conclusion
I looked for that Giorgia Meloni speech once more and still couldn't find it. YouTube has completely buried it on the search algorithm. Post link below if you can find it. It's quite obvious why such a thing would be done. Hard to call someone a fascist when they are the only one in the room speaking any sense. I think the damage has already been done though. The left messed up bad by not backing up their claims of fascism with any evidence.
Google also seems to have scrubbed the speech as well.
No surprises there.

No, apart from the moral perspective, I don't think they were even decent politicians. What I think is that they were good opportunists that handled well the rage of a depressed population. In that context, they knew how to use in their favor the rage of the mob. Hitler obviously capitalized well the Versalles treaty which was very unfair to the germans after losing the WWI, Mussolini was an apprentice of Primo de Rivera a Spanish dictator that he admired (admitted by himself).
Fascism hasn't a clear ideology, basically has some core hate speeches (racism, classism and dictatorial ways in these issues ).
Meloni has claimed that will stop the illegal immigration, denying the entry to ports the ONG's uses to save people crossing the Mediterranean. You could say that this is arguably legit but I'm not so sure about it.
If I had to claim that someone was a good politician among the totalitarian leaders then I'd name Goebbels who was the propaganda minister of Hitler. He innovated in that area and some govs use still his methods.
Meloni in Italy, Le Pen in France, Abascal in Spain, are part of a fascist international in Europe imo. We can discuss it further if you want, you have my respect so I'm open to this debate. Cheers.
Meloni will probably practice some restraint, in large part because Italy is effectively subsidized by the EU in general and Germany in particular. Don’t want to bite the hand that feeds you.

Germany just got handed it's ass on a platter. Millions of Germans are at risk of dying this winter without heat. They won't be feeding anyone. There may not be a Germany by January. Greater Italy, or the Italo-Hungarian Republic could absorb the former German territory after the mobs lynch the traitors that have stabbed them in the back.
Perhaps you are unaware power prices in Germany spiked >2500% BEFORE the US sabotaged Nordstream. People are going to die because of that in Germany this winter, and I bet they won't all be poor. Restraint may be fatal depending on how bad things get.
Sometimes the only way forwards is right over everything in the way. The WEF minions in office have turned the EU and national governments into enemies of their people, and there is worse to come.
Blowing Nordstream was an act of war against the German and European people, and it is not credible anyone but the USA committed that act. Bidet promised to end Nordstream in February, did end it, and tens of millions of Europeans facing freezing to death this winter know it. This is the beginning of the end of the EU.
I just hope it is the beginning of the end of the Fascists screaming 'fascism' and pointing fingers at everyone else, and not the West.

You may be surprised to learn I am not on team Missolini. IMHO governments are being deprecated so that the WEF can step in and save hapless revolutionaries with technocratic tyranny, and Missolini is going to enable many to think that Italy will not succumb, that national government can be depended on, and this will create a huge population of people that do not act to become as independent as necessary to survive the collapse of national governments.
I don't disagree with anything I've heard she said. I think she's a deliberately provided haven that will conveniently clump targets for shooters of fish in barrels. The war has already begun, and the truth was, of course, the first casualty. Treachery is the pointy end of everything the WEF has, and to betray anyone you have to gain their trust. This is how it's done.
The real definition of wealth is independent means. All cryptocurrencies are dependent on the infrastructure owned by the enemies of free people, the internet. I hope you have plans A-D operant and have prepared to maintain independent means of providing your needs going forward. All that needs to be done to end all cryptocurrencies is for them to think of the children being raped by terrorists using encryption, and refuse to transmit any data that is encrypted. When they want you to use CBDCs that will be all that's available to you to use.
There are ways to preserve your capital in that event. Do hedge, please.

Meloni and her speech: Was it that difficult to find for you? Maybe I just use the best-ever search terms on YouTube. Was in the top 3 search results on my first attempt. Sure, YT maybe not be too cool because of some censoring here and there, but they are not that bad. In the end, the whole world enjoys the existence of YT, whether it be viewers or producers.
Kwon: I tend to agree with you. He is punished already for life. Well, he likely will get into projects, and be able to find funds and all, but indeed, he may not be accepted with/in any decent project.

I simply would love to go on an island and make my own state, I still wonder if that is still possible anywhere on the planet to still discover land not claimed by any country. Once I do that I can open the borders based on testing potential new citizens as I am sick of stupid people and those that simply don't have any culture and are mindless.

Meloni: I live in the part of the world that suffered terribly because of Italian fascism eight decades ago. That and my relative familiarity with Italian politics make me more sensitive towards speculations that the Italy might go fascist. If it does, however, it will have less to do with Meloni and more with abhorrent economic and social conditions that would make black-shirted alternative more attractive to people than maintaining increasingly unbearable status quo. In the short term, there won't be any danger. She will find some way to wiggle out of the most extreme positions and her take pro-establishment on the war would remove some of the heat, just like in Poland, which has her anti-LGBT policies all but forgiven by EU establishment.
Bukele: Big nothingburger. He just continues with Latin American practice of charismatic and strong leaders who always found some creative ways to mess with their constitutions to maintain their power. Argentina is one such example.
Do Kwon: Although I completely understand the hatred so many in cryptosphere feel towards him, at the end of the day people ultimately responsible for LUNA fiasco were those that failed to use DYOR and common sense. Scapegoating single individuals for the mistakes made by the millions is wrong.

I'm soo confused by trading across markets..
By my logic, if the power of the dollar goes down by 5%, of course something is gonna be about 5% more expensive... Like that loaf of bread that was a dollar is now a dollar five... So did Bitcoin really go up 6.5% or whatever? Or did it just adapt to the dollar being 5% or so less powerful?
Of course the article is talking about the pound, but that's just some forex magic to convert to usd, amirite?
That's what they told us about buying power and inflation along with all the other good stuff in highschool economics right? Do they still teach that, and has it gotten better if they do? Cuz like, technology and shit ..
I'm just a simpleton who knows literally nothing about economics (especially at scale), but my logic feels right.
Nah it's really complex and there is no way to calculate these things because it's an equation with a thousand different variables. Trying to isolate a variable is impossible, but people do it anyway and just hope their guess is correct and that the other variables don't matter as much.
When it comes to liquidity it's very impressive that Bitcoin is holding ground in an environment like this. Fiat has x1000 more liquidity than Bitcoin. Bitcoin holding support while USD dominates is pretty spectacular.
I can also feel a bit of annoyance that you feel, and share in your blog, maybe I am the unlucky person, let alone getting the minimum wage I just hang big in my hive blog. For the needs of 3 children and other needs, our economy is not doing well at the moment, and I am one of the less well off. Hopefully you will get good things again tomorrow arrives @edicted

And Bukele in El Salvador changing the rules is the sad story that we are already used to in Latin America. The populism that we have not been able to get rid of, and that seems will continue in these parts of the world for a long time.

I am finding it very hard to find a centrist kind of journalism these days. Even the supposed unbiased journalism here on hive has a tendency to lean to a side with their analysis of what ever they are reporting on.
