EDSMM Contests

Another great week for me getting some great tokens at fire sale prices. My savings is working well I save all week and buy tokens with what I save and then get passive income from my savings.
As for airdrops if they are on Hive I try to get them all, as for off chain I really do not have the time so I stick to Hive.
As for time change we do not for a few weeks we change on Nov. 6 here in Alberta

Another target hit, although I must admit I cheated a bit and just bought a bunch of HBD to do it.
Also, if anyone has any doubts about whether it's worth putting in the effort to do the SaturdaySavers weekly competitions - don't... I won last week (thank you !)
For this week's competition, on airdrops; I have to admit I've been really disorganised about them. I've done a couple of the LARYNX ones, although I was late to the party and missed the first few.
I have to confess to mixed feelings about airdrops. It's awfully easy to put quite a bit of work in making sure you tick all the boxes to qualify, only to find a month later that you've gained about 5p in some totally obscure token.
I reckon it's worth doing an airdrop if the token looks like it'll go up in value in a consistent way, or if it's a project that looks interesting enough that you'd join the fun anyway.
Maybe next year I'll make it a goal to do a bunch more airdrops and see if they're profitable in relation to the time taken and the cost/ease of extracting the tokens and turning them into something useful.

Is investing cheating?
Congratulations on hitting your target 🙂.
I've benefited from a lot of airdrops on Hive, all my original LEO stake was an airdrop and it's been used in many different ways before I've finally built up again. We've two airdrops running on Hive now and there doesn't seem much to it - just claim and do what you will. Other times I look in my H-E wallet and there's 500 of a new token I hadn't seen before 😂
On the other hand, there's BiteBall, or whatever it is called now, from which I don't think I gained a penny!
I like airdrops but I tend to think that most are either hit or miss. It just depends on whether or not you have the token or used a specific platform.

That's true!
Forgot to comment on airdrops - I do try to join in where I can on the HIVE airdrops, and for example, I'll aim to increase staked SPS a little over the coming months to help with the year long GLX airdrop.
But another easy airdrop that I use/get regularly is from Coinbase. They do a thing called 'learn and earn' - where every now and again they airdrop $3 worth of crypto for watching a short video and then answering a few questions (which you cant get wrong, you keep selecting the multiple choice answer until you get it right !). Its really easy, especially if you already have a coinbase account. I simply log on each day, and see if there is a new one to do or not. I get an average of about one a month (plus my wife has a coinbase account too, so we get double !). They pay straight away, and you can do whatever you want with the funds as soon as you have them - trade them for something else (SHIB/DOGE anyone ??!! - LOL) - withdraw them to another platform, etc ! So if you have a coinbase account, its worth checking out !
I must admit that I haven't got to grips with the GLX thing yet 😂.

Hey everyone! I'm a little late to the party, but this is day one for me!
Today, I'm starting to save towards an emergency fiat fund, starting with 1 penny!
My plan for the time being is to do the penny a day challenge until the beginning of the year, and roll that over into next year's 365 penny a day challenge.
I do have a lot of other goals and plans, but like you said, start small!
I recently made a post about starting my journey into financial freedom, and I feel like being a part of this community of like-minded individuals here at the Saturday Savings Club will only help me along the way!
I know some of these are too long term to be worried about now, but I figured I might as well throw them in to give you all an idea of why I have my short term goals as what they are.
Specific Short term goals (less than 1 year)-

My ultimate long term financial goal -
Using proper risk management and implementing savings strategies I've learn along the way, eventually I would like to use the brokerage account I will be starting as my full time income!
I don't have a specific blog post for my savings goals, but being a part of the Saturday Savings Club is my opportunity to start one! :) Thank you for bringing me here, and for the encouragement @shanibeer, @susie-savers, and @eddie-earner!
Other than that, I haven't been apart of any airdrops yet in my Hive career, but I'm definitely going to be more conscious of them and the requirements!

Re: airdrops, I've only gotten to claim Larynx one time ever. I've tried every time I log in to 3Speak but it doesn't work. That first time it worked, I clicked "claim" repeatedly and finally it took. The last time I tried it acted like it worked but then nothing happened. I don't see any balance shown. I don't know where to look. I don't know where to delegate. It's not in my H-E wallet. It doesn't work on 3Speak. I have given up on it.
Edit: ok so I went exploring on that original post for another way to do it manually (I don't automate things, I don't want to). Found out that at https://spk.dlux.io/ ...a rather plain page that doesn't look like it's loaded all the way until you log in, it did claim twice, and I was able to claim for this month, so hooray! I still don't know where to delegate or what to do with it though. I wish it was on H-E, I hate having to use everyone's different website.

I love airdrops, although I have to confess that I usually sell the tokens quite quickly and then buy them back when they have dropped. I don't know if this is a good or bad strategy.
