Splinterlands | Completed My Legendary Summoner Set!
Chaos Legion To Rise In Value ?
I have not participated in the Rebellion Pre-Sale mainly because I see little to no upside price potential the coming year since 9.5M Packs will be available in the General Sale and the moment card prices go above the expected pack prices, more packs are bound to be opened to push the prices back down.
However, Pretty much all Chaos Legion Cards are going at an all-time low valuation and packs go for well below 1$ while they are at least out of print from the Chest Rewards. Pretty much every new player that will come in the coming year will get exponentially greater value from buying Chaos Legion Cards or packs on the market compared to going for Rebellion packs.
Regular Summoners now go for somewhere between 0.19$ and 0.44$ at single copy prizes which means for the price of 1 pack of 5$ where you are lucky if you get a single Level 1 Summoner, you will be able to buy between 12 & 25 of them from the Chaos Legion Collection.
It's also really hard to get Legendary cards from packs that are considered a jackpot hit. Yet the cheapest Legendary Summoner now goes for the price of 1 Rebellion pack. With cards it's exactly the same and as a new player it's realistic to buy a decent gold league collection at the moment for a couple 100$.
So my guess is that Chaos Legion Going forward the coming year must rise in value if the game gets to a point where new players come into the ecosystem.
Completed Legendary Summoner Set!
I did manage to recently complete my Legendary Chaos Legion Summoner Set finally getting the Immortalis (which was one of the hardest to win against) at Level 3!
This now makes me have all the Chaos Legion Summoners at max level for Gold League!
Future Older Card Valuations?
I'm still don't know exactly how to see future cards valuations of older sets and everything will depend on the use-case they will continue to have. I get the idea that it's not really a sustainable model that you buy a card once and they your are equally able to earn with it from the ecosystem forever. At the same time, especially the older cards that are rare and powerful should be the most expensive in the game over time.
My hope kind of remains that one day there will be a Draft Mode where everyone is on a level playing field and the players that are providing their cards to a pool will earn part of the entry fees based on the number of that specific card and the amount it is used. However, my fear at the same time is that they will be nerfed even more with Packs as reward in chests only becoming available in Modern and most of the cards eventually sliding down toward the DEC burn value making them almost worthless while near exact copies with a different image will be printed and sold in newer sets.
Conclusion
While everyone is buying Rebellion Packs, my focus will continue to go toward buying cheaper cards on the market to continue competing in Gold Diamond League for the longer term. If new players come in, they will exponentially be better off buying Chaos Legion packs or cards instead of Rebellion.
Nice collection. I am inspired to work towards my last one, now that I ve seen yours.
Still got Ilthain to get up, it seems expensive.
Good luck completing them, at these prices it's also quite affordable.
Congrats. I couldn't be bothered with maxing astral entity or lily but I keep thinking about it because its really all that's missing from my CL core set.
Did you ever start getting payouts from monster curator? I've tried to ask flauwy about it and he's ignored me.
I enjoy playing Astral at times and I'm in the same camp of buying them just to complete the set in a way.
I asked @abrockman aboyt @monster-curator just now. I have no clue still why it has stopped the curation payouts for a entire month now. Many are delegating it it.
Hopefully they tell us something. I'm not sure how they go a month silently while ignoring questions about it. Web 3 is stupid sometimes 🤷♂
