Robhinhood Just Made An Epic Crypto Move

Robinhood one of the biggest names in the finance sector for stocks but also somewhat known for crypto has been going mainstream once again. Love them or hate them I feel like they were the stock version of what Coinbase was in terms of allowing retail investors more control and a beautiful easy to use interface.

As most of us know now though the stock market isn't as "sexy" as it once was. Through uncovering how corrupt and how much insider trading happens on the stock market in particular a few select people in the government people have been turned away from the stock market in general.

This has caused a increasing rise in crypto as being the new possible way to "stick it to the man" and it's now easier than ever to get involved with it via spot ETFs. However Robinhood is going one step further now.

In recent news Robhinhood has just acquired the company BitStamp for around 200 million. This is a European company so I think it's safe to bet Robinhood is looking to now expand operations outside of the USA and into the EU.

Regulations

Now the nice thing about buying an established company in the EU is that the regulation BS is pretty much over instead of trying to introduce your core company into the EU.

This move should streamline and make things much faster to get Robinhood to enter into the EU market which should become a rather large market cap for Robinhood to tap into and further improve it's stocks price.

Robhinhood was also one of the many major platforms to get a wells notice from the SEC which simply tried to stop the flow of crypto into every day peoples hand. Even Gary has changed his tune a bit here saying that crypto is not putting the wording on their product right. You know that classic thing I put on most of my articles of... "This is not investment advice do your own research before investing and understand the risks" is law in the USA because of the SEC. It's actully pretty dumb and it's for what I would call "Dumb People".

Before this it was a much harsher lawsuit that the SEC was trying to do. Now they are trying to paint a picture that they are looking for the every day investor. Which you know was their job in the first place. However the SEC has damaged their reputation so bad now that the vast majority of people legit despise the SEC and honestly now Biden with his recent veto.

It's wild how political crypto has become.

Robhinhood Stock

Overall the stock has been recovering nicely once again as it starts to rebrand it's image from the painful insider trading, halting of trading of crypto and stocks like GME etc. The company says we do this to protect investors but really it only ever happens when the stocks up and people are trying to cash out their profits pretty much blocking your every day investor and protecting those mega corps so their image overall still has a bad rep along with understanding how it all works on the backend.

Perhaps the buying of this new company will pave the way for Robhinhood to now do more inhouse instead of outsourcing it to other companies for a fee on very transaction as we have seen in the past.

I remember buying some LTC on Robinhood a long time ago and I was so pissed off when I found out I couldn't move it outside the platform. They have changed that policy now, but it still left a bad taste in my mouth for them. I still have some stocks sitting over there though.

It wasn't so much of a policy as lack of technology. They finally added full wallet functionality, minus the private key. I use them as my offramp for USDC on Polygon and use their spending account with debit card. They are essentially my bank at this point. I also get paid in LTC, or whatever asset (Stocks included) for round up rewards. It's actually been a really good experience with them. Only problem it is KYC. That's why I don't offload anything but USDC and sell for dollars.

Wow good friend, it's like they're finally stepping up their game with this move, aiming to expand globally. And yeah, the SEC drama and stock halts is definitely not a cool thing at all. Very very informative blog wow 😍😍😍

That's a huge move for them. They have been my offramp for a while.
