LEO/Hive What's New This Week + Goals

I'm a little off track as normally I post this type of post up on Sunday. Being that it was Christmas however and a total loss of a day for myself lol I decided I would instead do it today Monday December 26th and see what we have going on rolling into the new year for both LEO and Hive.

Hive Updates

There once again hasn't been all too much that has come out of hive or the applications around it. This time of the year is normally a little slower because of the holidays so I expect some real action in the first month of 2023.

That being said there are still a few smaller updates or just some general details from the applications.

Ragnarok NFT Game

The first would be finally a update from Ragnarok which is a NFT based game being built on the hive blockchain. While there's still not all too much information about how the game looks and plays all we know is it will kind of be like a chess style game with large prizes. It's been a good while since the airdrop tokens hit and there's been updates. All we know is the Alpha test is live and you can read about that update here in there official post Ragnarok Update - Alpha, Art and Bug Bounty

DCrops Winter Event

DCrops is running a Xmas event. I do like the fact they have been putting on these events lately. They offer some decently cool prizes for being active and I think that's one of the keys to a successful game and keeping it active. We see mini events like this across triple a titles all the time like the winterfest event for New World.

Splinterlands

Not all too much coming out new here however we did see the introduction of a makeshift land grab at the moment. It really isn't enough to get people excited though clearly as the price hardly moved and only about 1/4 of the land out there has been locked in in terms of plots claimed. Personally I'm waiting a little longer to claim my tract but I did claim two plots just to see what it would be like. Overall there's no information on the plot so I can see why people don't really care to lock them in yet. It simply shows you the position on the map however from what I hear that shouldn't matter. Q1 is going to be interesting let's just say that. I think it's going to shape if Splinterlands is going to become a beast or not rolling forward.

LEO Updates

I was hoping we would see the new UI live before Christmas but that doesn't seem like it was the case even though it almost felt promised. That being said I now expect the rollout to happen week 1 of the new year and if not and continued delays happen I have to say I'm starting to lose my faith a bit. 2022 was a rough year for LEO in terms of price point and while a good deal of development did get done it overall didn't really account or contribute into much.

My hopes are within the first month of Q1 we see not only the new UI but also the ad revenue platform kick in. From there and things are running smoothly I'll start onboarding and promoting it heavily to bring people into LEO and the crypto twitter hopefully take over. It's going to be a boatload of work though in order to really make this happen from every community member and developer. The chances are slim but seriously LEO needs a win.

Some might feel I'm being harsh on hive and leo and often times that contributes to me getting a random crazy downvote or simply not many votes. That's fine people have the choice to do that (should it happen from curation accounts imo? NO) anyways what I've learned in business and in life is that your real friends are the ones that tell you when something sucks or isn't working well. It's tough love but it's the kind of feedback that gains action. I've listed many things over the last year of which all have been either later adopted as needing to happen or where implemented right away. Now I don't have all the answers but I do have a rather large amount of experience in taking a company from alpha nothing to a multi million dollar company. I've done in twice in my lifetime already and I'm hoping to be able to do it again here in the crypto world even during the bear market. Let's make things happen in 2023!

Delay after an almost promised time may cause one to lose faith a bit but I hope it doesn't get past that, I think I saw another update about UI some hours ago.

In any case, it's closer than it was hehe.

Thanks for the update, I guess I'll be on the look out for your Sundays (not Mondays lol) update posts, seem helpful.

It's slow lately but I am glad to see Ragnarok taking off. At least it's starting to go somewhere and I am looking forward to how much HBD it will start locking up.

As for delays, I think it's common and I have gotten used to it. It's one thing that I wish they work on because the timelines are generally wrong most of the time for LeoFinance.

It seems promising and I have never tried other game than splinterlands. But since it is NFT game so it is good to take interest. Thank you for providing information about this game.

As a former business manager and owner, I understand the "tough love" dynamic. However, I wouldn't expect many to join the party. Developing a great business requires leading people to a place that they would not arrive at apart from your input... it sounds a little arrogant... but that is reality. I have seen it numerous times...

Without strong leadership and example... businesses die.

very true indeed many aspects to a business that many don't see great points.
