Hello friends!

I wanted to share my first bike ride of 2025 after quite some time, because I realized I haven't been sharing my cycling experiences lately, and maybe they could be useful to someone who wants to do the same route.
I must say it was quite a challenging ride, especially since I’ve not been cycling much lately. But my bike really supported me during the ride, and it was very enjoyable and fun, especially because cycling with friends always makes the experience better.

Unfortunately, when I got home, I realized I hadn’t taken many great photos. That day, it was really cold, and honestly, I didn’t stop much. However, I did a wonderful route of almost 50 km, starting from Luino, a town located on Lake Maggiore, and cycling to Lake Lugano. For a short stretch, together with my companions, I even crossed into Switzerland and had to go through the border.

Luckily, there are several bike paths here heading towards Voldomino and Germignaga. While there are peaceful roads, you can also cycle through chestnut and oak forests, which help shorten the route – and that's exactly what we did.
When cycling, there’s always the chance to observe new places, but also beautiful churches like the Church of San Vittore in Brezzo. It’s always a pleasure to ride along small streets that run through forests and cross little villages at the Italian-Swiss border.

Naturally, we arrived in Ponte Tresa, a lively town on Lake Lugano, where we had a well-deserved lunch break, and then we cycled along the shores of Lake Lugano, following these beautiful bike paths that wind through breathtaking landscapes. Afterward, we returned towards Luino, passing through the Margorabbia Park – a beautiful natural oasis.

In conclusion, I can say it was a great ride. The weather was very cold, which did affect performance, but I still think that the bike is always a fantastic way to discover new places, so I always recommend using it when you visit places you've never been to before.

I hope my adventure was interesting. Thank you for reading, and I’ll see you at the next one!

I think this is not an easy journey, plus the weather is very cold. But the beauty of nature is a gift from hard work.
