Visit to Fiera di Primiero in Christmas dress - Trentino Alto Adige - Discovering Italy with alequandro!

A few days ago, taking advantage of these days of vacation, I decided to visit a mountain resort, I wanted to see the snow and the typical Christmas lights so the choice fell on Fiera di Primiero, in Trentino Alto Adige.

Qualche giorno fa, approffittando di questi giorni di vacanza, ho deciso di visitare una località montana, avevo voglia di vedere la neve e le tipiche luminarie natalizie così la scelta è ricaduta su Fiera di Primiero, in Trentino Alto Adige.

I arrived in the afternoon, it must have been 3 pm, there weren't many people around.

Sono arrivato il pomeriggio, saranno state le 15, non c'era molta gente in giro.

I walked on the main street and after a quick stop in a bar I continued the walk towards the oldest part of Fiera di Primiero.

Ho passeggiato sulla via principale e dopo aver fatto una tappa veloce in un bar ho proseguito la passeggiata verso la parte più antica di Fiera di Primiero.

Behind the houses the beautiful peaks of the Pale di San Martino that rise over the roofs.

Dietro le case le bellissime cime delle Pale di San Martino che svettano oltre i tetti.

Then I passed through the main square again to visit the Church.

Poi sono passato d i nuovo per la piazza principale per visitare la Chiesa della Madonna dell'aiuto.

I don't think it is an interesting church, but I still like to observe minor churches with a critical eye.

Non la reputo una chiesa interessante però mi piace comunque osservare chiese minori con occhio critico.

After a while I left the church and headed as I had decided towards the ancient part, the most interesting one.

Dopo poco sono uscito dalla chiesa e mi sono diretto come avevo deciso verso la parte antica, quella più interessante.

Here is the Gothic church of Santa Maria Assunta, whose construction began in 1491 on the remains of a previous building.

Ecco la chiesa gotica di Santa Maria Assunta, la cui costruzione è iniziata nel 1491 sui resti di un precendente edificio.

Right next to the church is the Negrelli house, famous because the designer of the Suez Canal was born here: Luigi Negrelli.

Around the church there are other buildings of historical and artistic value.

The ancient church of San Martino, which already existed in 1206 cannot be visited, but the ancient frescoes on the internal walls are visible.

The façade of the old rectory is also interesting with two sixteenth-century frescoes.

Since the church of Santa Maria Assunta was open, I decided to visit it.

The interior was dimly lit, but I could still appreciate the style of this ancient mountain church.

L'interno era poco illuminato, ma ho potuto lo stesso apprezzare lo stile di questa antica chiesa di montagna.

Once out, the sun was about to set and the light was about to give its best. With me I had only the iPhone, I did not risk challenging shots.

Una volta uscito, il sole stava per tramontare e la luce stava per dare il meglio. Con me avevo solo l'iphone, non ho azzardato scatti impegnativi.

Despite the limitations of the smartphone, I must say that with the right precautions you can take nice shots.

Nonostante i limiti dello smartphone devo dire che con le giuste accortezze si riesce a fare scatti carini.

I decided to go back to the main street, they had turned on the Christmas lights and I wanted to see the effect.

Ho deciso di tornare verso la via principale, avevano acceso le luminarie di natale e volevo vederne l'effetto.

The center was coming to life with people, unfortunately due to the pandemic, we were all with masks and this detail takes away a little from the magic of Christmas, but never mind, it's a detail that I can bear.

Il centro si stava animando di persone, purtroppo a causa della pandemia, eravamo tutti con la mascherina e questo dettaglio toglie un po' la magia del Natale, ma pazienza, è un dettaglio che posso sopportare.

With the lights on it's a whole other thing, very nice.

Con le luminarie accese è tutta un'altra cosa, molto carino.

I also tried to get out of the more illuminated area a little bit and the atmosphere was not far behind, really nice, with the mountains and some snowdrifts.

Ho provato anche ad uscire un pochino dalla zona più illuminata e l'atmosfera non era da meno, davvero bello, con le montagne e qualche cumulo di neve.

The sun had now set, it was time to go home. I hope one day of these to find more time to stop, and appreciate more calmly these places that are wonderful.

Il sole ormai era tramontato, era arrivato il momento di tornare a casa. Spero un giorno di questi di trovare più tempo per fermarmi, ed apprezzare con più calma questi luoghi che sono meravigliosi.
