Marostica is 1 hour's drive from Padua and just over an hour from Venice using the motorway.

As soon as we arrived, the imposing profile of Mount Pauso and the upper and lower castles welcomed us, creating a magical impression.

Marostica is famous for its square, which hosts the living chess game every year, a unique event that attracts visitors from all over the world.

The square was lively and festive, thanks also to the Christmas market which added a touch of warmth and celebration to the fresh winter air.

La piazza era animata e festosa, grazie anche al mercatino natalizio che aggiungeva un tocco di calore e festa all'aria fresca dell'inverno.

After exploring the lively square, we decided to take a quieter stroll through the narrow streets of the historic center. The charm of Marostica also lies in its paved alleys and colorful houses that overlook the cobbled streets. We came across small shops selling local products and crafts, and enjoyed some traditional Venetian cuisine in one of the local restaurants.

However, the real surprise of the day was the discovery of a hidden park, an oasis of tranquility enriched by the presence of ginko biloba trees. With the yellow leaves showing off in all their autumnal beauty, the trees added a touch of magic to the already enchanting atmosphere of Marostica. We sat for a while admiring the beauty of the surrounding landscape and enjoying the peace of the place.

Dopo aver esplorato la vivace piazza, abbiamo deciso di prendere una passeggiata più tranquilla attraverso le stradine del centro storico. Il fascino di Marostica risiede anche nei suoi vicoli lastricati e nelle case colorate che si affacciano sulle strade acciottolate. Ci siamo imbattuti in piccoli negozi che vendevano prodotti locali e artigianato, e abbiamo gustato alcuni piatti tradizionali della cucina veneta in uno dei caratteristici ristoranti del luogo.

Tuttavia, la vera sorpresa della giornata è stata la scoperta di un parco nascosto, un'oasi di tranquillità arricchita dalla presenza di alberi di ginko biloba. Con le foglie gialle che sfoggiavano in tutta la loro bellezza autunnale, gli alberi hanno aggiunto un tocco di magia all'atmosfera già incantevole di Marostica. Ci siamo seduti per un po' ad ammirare la bellezza del paesaggio circostante e a goderci la pace del luogo.
