Writing help

  • A free app: Grammarly. A lot of us are not native English speakers and I am finding it a helpful app. It will underline spelling and grammar mistakes. Just remember that is is not always right -especially if you use complex sentence structures. Here is the link

  • Remember The Most Dangerous Writing App. You set the time - 5 min - and start typing. Don’t stop!!! It will destroy what you wrote if you stop for more than 3 seconds - and backspace does not count as writing on the app. If you are prone to stop and think - this app forces you to keep going. You can make corrections after the 5 minutes are over.

  • A timer. Egg timer is a free tool you can use on your desktop to set a time. This is useful for our freewrites or if you want to work in blocks of time and then take a break. Here is the link

Thank you for today's prompt. Here is the result of my five minutes.

Dear Adventure Guild Leaders,
What do you think of when I say the wild? Maybe you think of wolves. Or large areas of unknown filled with strange flora, fauna, and Monsters. As adventurers, I know the wild is a perfect place for us to make a living. Full of unknown things to discover. But why must we always link discovery and research with blood-drenched violent domination and conquering of all we come across? Is this a curse of human nature? The monsters of the wild are only monsters because they will not live within our city walls and abide by our rules. The wild is often linked with chaos, which we associate with evil, but this is a logical fallacy. A falsehood we use to justify the domination and destruction of wild areas. As adventures, there are more than enough problems in our communities; fight the demons at home and leave the wild alone. Thank you for your time and attention.
