Speaking of MAGIC, here are some notes I wrote to myself yesterday (or was it the day before that?) while sitting in the car waiting for Felicity to get through with school:
"For me, it wouldn't be enough to know THAT magic worked. I would want to know HOW it worked. Same with psychology / slash / cognition..."
"With computers, I get it. A series of switches. On / Off. 1 / 0. Each bit of information contributes to an ever growing, complex system of codes, languages, and electronic components, but it all goes back to the fundamentals of electricity and switches."
"But MAGIC (or spiritualism or superstition or religion - however you FRAME the system)... is based on WHAT??"
"The inherent power of language? (Is it the SOUND of the words interacting with the physical world in some way?? If so, it should be measurable...) Or is it the TEXT - the SYMBOL that's key. Or is it the concept BEHIND the symbol, perhaps working in conjunction with the magic worker's mind? or WILL?? Again, is this measurable???"
