Mariah (the Boss) is going to Frankie’s (our older daughter) for a while today to binge watch a t.v. show. (The new season of Bridgerton, I believe – not enough monsters in it for my taste.) This means that I’ll have a few hours of “ART” time. The question then becomes:

How should I use my free time?

I haven’t recorded a new radio show since Xmas, and I’m pretty sure that BOTH of my listeners would enjoy some new tunes…

There is also a chance that the weather will be decent today, and I have a couple of giant canvases that I could paint, but at the moment, it’s still pretty wet out there. (This IS the Pacific Northwest, after all, where it rains 364 days per year… 365 on Leap Year!) However, if the sun provides enough energy to dry the front walkway, I might go paint…

Other things I could (should?) do:

[ ] Publish new cryptoart

DADA poetry (in the Hugo Ball vein) was an accretion of nonsense syllables and sounds akin to primal chants and performed with gusto and verve! (Very few performances bother with verve in today’s market, and that’s a damn shame!)

One thing that I’m gonna do today is leave the t.v. off. I’ve spent so much time (lately) watching paranormal videos that I sat thru a two hour diatribe on ancient aliens and the royal alien blood-line theory yesterday…and I didn’t bother to get up and change the channel or anything.

(I love paranormal and conspiracy junk, but this was just an old guy in front of a computer monologuing for the entire show…and it wasn’t even THAT funny!)

It’s still pretty wet outside… (Technically, it’s pouring rain…) That doesn’t bode will for going outside to paint (at least, not in the near future…)

For those who are still counting, this is day five of the #hiveblopomo challenge, AND it is also DAY TWENTY-THREE of my intentionality project. For that latter work, I am learning some important lessons: not everything is that great to read or watch. As time is a precious commodity, it isn’t bad to give something a chance, but then give it up before completion if there is a different work (book, documentary, comic, podcast…) that might prove more valuable. Humans do not have infinite time to waste on (non-enjoyable) nonsense. Incredibly enjoyable nonsense, however, is acceptable!

I think I’m going to take a short break from typing, use the facilities, and eat some foods, then I might make a short playlist of tunes that I’m in the mood for, set that list a spinning, and do some drawing… I’ll get back to you post-people when I’m prepared to share more thoughts and chewy bits!
