Getting relief from our biggest enemy: ourselves.
Our Brain is something amazing! At the same time, it's scary. Just buying positive thoughts we can improve our lives, including healing physical diseases. Who never heard of the power of our brain to fight cancer and other diseases. People with short timelines to end their lives, in the end, survive more than that just because they have internal power to fight the disease. In the other hand, there is a dark force in our brain that can deep us and get us sick. Bad thoughts and overloading it is something that can cause physical problems in our bodies. How should we manage that?
One of my worst problems is that my internal voices ask too much of me. It is easy to fall into these voices saying that "it was my fault" about something going wrong and how I am the one guilty of everything bad that happens in my life or around me. I started to notice this voice, most of the time it is automatic so I just follow it. It brings me more stress and in the end, I am worse than the most picky boss that I have ever had. I am still learning to detect this voice to stop it. The best way to fight this voice is to protect my inner self. Remember that bully who torments the quiet kid? It is something, using my conscience to detect this "bullying" and using it to protect that quiet kid that I need.
One of these days I was driving and I detected these thoughts, I just interfered and said "It isn't your fault, it is ok. The world won't end because that happened". Just saying that made me cry. It was a cry of relief. Sometimes we focus in compassion and forgiveness with other people, but we forget to do that with ourselves. At work, I have been doing Yoga once a week. It is during my lunchtime on Thursdays. I registered myself more because of the physical benefits since I have back problems due to a long time working on a chair. However, I started to notice that the instructor also focused on mental health.
In the beginning, I was just skipping this part, since my mind was so busy and I thought that it was just lost of time thinking about thanking our brain and our body. But now I am hearing more about it and doing what she says. My brain started to relax more and the bad voices that only give me stress also started to be far during this meditation period. It was very satisfying. So my experience with just changing our mindset and training our brain to realize when we feel some brain pollution of harmful thoughts is already something that helps a lot in our daily life.
Of course, sports and traveling are actions that indeed help us to turn off our daily worries. I am anxious for my next vacation and traveling is always good to forget about problems. But these problems just come back when you return so you are just avoiding the real problem. The real problem can be fixed only with our internal initiative to change our mindset and have more compassion and forgiveness with us.

Seriously, nothing will happen if we decide to have some days off to care for our minds, we will always come back with the better version of ourselves. Back ache can be so painful, so it's best to care for it early enough
heheh I have been with back problems for years hehehe! Well I know that the best would be regular physical exercises which I run from it most of the times!
I'm glad to hear that helps! I avoid thoughts while I'm driving with hard rock music, no chance to think that way! lol It's good to be able to keep those bad thoughts at bay the healthy way like you're doing, as opposed to drugs like so many people get hooked on. Keep it up!

Drugs only solve it temporarily right? the real problem doesn't disappear! I won't lie that alcohol gives a fun temporary relief! but addiction is something that scares me the hell out!

Hanging around toxic people does a lot of damage to our mental health.
People's mindsets are different. In my case, I directly blame myself for any failure because I don't see any benefit in avoiding the truth. But honestly, accepting it says that I need to do better to overcome it, and because of my stubborn nature, I think such a harsh thought is my source of encouragement.

Be careful to not being harsh on yourself!

This resonates deeply. Thank you for reminding me to treat myself with the same kindness I would show to loved one. Self-compassion is truly a powerful act of self-love.
