Cold morn, downstream

From this angle the river is wide and cold, with the vestiges of last night's mist cloak still clinging like icy lace to the insides of my lungs. But, above there is the promise of blue sky - a hope that the sun could burn away the winter. It's always sunny above the clouds.
Since I could see the reflection of the drone in the water, I was able to get very low. Not so low it looks like a boat, or that I'd risk a wind gust turning the drone in a submarine. I'm still nervous flying over water but getting less concerned with each new flight.
There are a lot of hydro-electric dams upstream so the water levels are managed. I can tell if we're expecting heavy rain because they let the water level drop very low in anticipation of the stormwater, or a cold night where we need increased flows to generate more electricity.

Have you ever turned your drone into submarine? I heard that flying a drone above water can be challenging, and a little bit risky.

Yes. See those power lines? Directly beneath that lies one of my drones. I put another drone into a pond atan AirBnB, but managed to recover and repair that one.

Even from the mere look at the sky, it looks quite cloudy so I guess rain is going to fall...

Yes, we had passing showers for much of the day. It is the season for cold rain.
