Two deer and I scared each other today, at the homestead.

My prepping goal was to move three loads of supplies to the homestead this week. The last run was today, and after traffic delays, I was running late. The load today went into storage in the travel trailer, so when I got there late; I pulled in directly.

Two of these were bedding down Under my travel trailer to avoid the rain:

This photo is from an earlier trip, they were faster than my camera this time, but this may be the same sweet thing.

They came boiling out from under the travel trailer,and leaped to the fence line, and bolted through the gate! If I had pulled in a little further, the larger one would have jumped over my hood.

While I tried to get my camera going, she stood outside the fence and woofed at me for invading her space! Then she decided that discretion was the better part of valor, and took off quickly.

They are beautiful animals, but I never would have thought that they would bed down under my trailer! I thought they were too big for that....

I was able to unload while I still had light, but will need to go back to setup the 5-gallon mice traps. The mice have been feasting on the bait I put out, so there may not be many left for the traps.
