Today was a prepping day on the road, pulling this!
Sorry I haven't been posting, but there was a lot of work to do. My Son is moving out to the same lake our homestead is next to. Today, we went and purchased and moved a travel trailer out to his new land.
It looks like this.
We pulled it 90 plus miles, in moderate wind; using secondary highways!
Here is the inside:
Dining room is comfortable, although we did loose the window behind the table on the highway.
Here's the kitchen:
It suffered no damage during the trip.
The bedroom area:
I'm was surprised at how comfortable this mattress actually is! It also took no damage in the move either.
This is what I looked at for 90 miles in the mirror:
Of course we stripped off the propane tanks and battery for towing. It was a Long day, But it was worth it, and this beast is on his land! It still needs to be leveled and setup, and of course we must replace that window that we lost on the road. But it was a good day, time well spent!
His new land is heavily wooded, with some moderate sized trees. We will need to spend some significant time with a chainsaw, to open it up; overall it is an attractive piece of land! And about 25 miles from my homestead by water on keystone lake....
Looks like the caravan will make decent accommodation.
It will allow him to get out there, and build a house. Then he can resell this unit....
👍💗🤠💙🥳
Cute! I want a travel trailer, but they have been hard to find lately.
Good ones sure have! That's why we had to drive 90 miles.... 🚚🚚⛽
But some we looked at were trashed out! So look first. 😭🤬🥺
Stay safe! Wonderful to see you here!!!!!
👍💗🤠😁😛💙
The trailer looks to be in pretty decent condition. Roof leaks are always the biggest problem with these flat top trailers, if they haven't been taken care of.
I bought an older 2 axle trailer about 12 years ago that was pretty well trashed on the inside. I was going to fix it up but I ended up selling it because I no longer had a vehicle big enough to pull it. Now I have a really old "canned ham" trailer that I've been working on for the past few years. I got it cheap, but it needed way more work than I realized when I bought it. I've written a bunch of posts about that over the past couple of years. I'll start working on the interior this coming summer.
We looked at several, and this was the best buy; being mostly ready! That way he doesn't have to do much with it.🥺💙😁😆🎯
He intends to build a house, while living in this, and then resell the unit when finished.👍🤕🤠💗
I'm working on a full sized trailer that had water damage to the floor. Will need to replace the entire floor, but the plywood is already there. Finest house I ever got for nothing, LOL! They threw it in free, when I bought the land.... 💙🤕💗✊🎯👍
That looks like it’s not in bad shape honestly! I think it’ll serve well until the house is built.
Yes, we inspected it first; and it looked pretty good. We did loose a window on the road, but he's got that ordered cut, and we'll replace it shortly. 😭👎🤕🥶💦
He's looking at a log cabin to build. He's very competent, so it shouldn't be a big problem!
👍🤠😁🚀💗✊
