On this day in Tennessee Titans History - Christmas Day, 2000 - Titans gift fans with a 31-0 victory over the Cowboys on MNF! πŸŽ„πŸŽ

Dang, what a fun victory in Tennessee Titans history! Who knows what little me was doing back then, these were the days before I was a Titans fan. I probably was not that aware what football really was at the time. It was Christmas night, so I was probably knocked out from playing with gifts from Santa.

This game took place in Nashville, Tennessee to a crowd of 68,498 in Adelphia Coliseum, which is now known as Nissan Stadium. It was a chilly Christmas night with temperatures below freezing and a wind chill of 14 degrees Fahrenheit.

I mean what a great game on Christmas night, against 'America's Team' the Dallas Cowboys. In the year 2000, the first ever Christmas in the 2000's.

The two Titan GOATs QB Steve McNair and RB Eddie George played in this one.

Here's how the Titans offense performed that night:

  • QB Steve McNair
    • 17/23 for 188 passing yards, 1 TD 2 INT
    • 30 rushing yards
  • RB Eddie George
    • 83 rushing yards on 19 carries, 1 rushing TD
    • 1 reception for 14 yards
  • WR Derrick Mason
    • 6 receptions for 95 yards, 1 TD catch
  • TE Frank Wycheck
    • 5 receptions for 45 yards

Man those four Titans are classic players for the two-tone blue. It's cool they were all in this game.

Like many of those late 90's early 2000's Titans teams were, the defense was dominant on this Christmas evening.

21 years ago, the Titans held the entire Cowboys offense to 95 total yards!

More Titans legends showed up that night! This time on the defensive side of the ball.

Titans LB Keith Bulluck, Mr. Monday Night himself, lived up to his nickname with a pick-six! DB Denard Walker also had an INT.

THE FREAK! Titans legendary DE Jevon Kearse had a sack that Christmas.

Titans DL Henry Ford also returned a fumble for a TD!

Seeing all these classic, legendary Titans dominate on Christmas in those memorable 'classic' Titans uniforms, is just awesome! I miss those white helmets. What a cool video.

Not every game is a Super Bowl victory. This is a memorable Titans W!! a shutout of the Cowboys! That must have been an epic Christmas for all Titans fans!

This was the final game of the 2000-01 NFL Season for both teams. The Titans finished 13-3 winning the now none existent AFC Central which included six teams. Those teams were the Titans, Ravens, Steelers, Jaguars, Bengals, and Browns.

2000-01 AFC Central Standings. This is so weird to look at!

The Cowboys finished 5-11, missing the playoffs. Some notable Cowboys that played in this game include: HOF RB Emmitt Smith.

Crazy how time flies, soon these NFL games we watch today will be 21 years old!

What do you mean? That was a horrible game!

I remember that game because I am old. Dallas had nothing to play for and they embarrassed themselves by looking like they just wanted the season to be over. The Titans kicked their ass good.
