Introduction

Dear Citizens of the Hive and dear Hivemind Communities

Reporting to you out of Zurich, Switzerland with an important message, the Swiss Hive Community is now mobilising, getting active and doing meetups.

In my previous post A Hive Logo and A New Swiss Badge, we created two Badges for anyone attending live meetings. The Swissness badge is open to anyone. One will be awarded the Swissness badge when attending or organising such meetings in other Swiss cities, with visible activity and documentation on the Swiss Hive Community. The list of attendees can be reported to us on our discord channel and the organisers will be made moderators to award their attendees. We also have a The Swiss badge for generally active users and supporters of our Swiss Hive Community. Note, as we believe in the value principles of crypto currency, our efforts are solely selfless, promoting good actors and encouraging the philosophy of community and community governance.

Who?

Me and @sandymeyer recently met, noticing that we had already met two years ago as I mentioned in my last post. I used to travel to various cities to meet other people from the hive in 2019, after I hung out with @vincentnijman in Holland, who really showed me that some of us on hive are truly exceptional people, who have something very idealistic in common. We believe in Data Ownership, Data Privacy, Decentralisation, Ownership of Publication and Original Content, Censorship Resistant Freedom of Expression and Liberty, to name a few. We believe in a space on the internet that's a people owned economy as opposed to one owned by a corporation. One that's free from centralisation and government coercive measures, owning the narrative through their corporate monopolies and media, indoctrinating the masses and undermining these principles of freedom. Make no mistake, we aren't a bunch of crypto anarchists here. Hive is still in it's infancy and has huge potential. It hasn't just become what it is over night. Hive is one of the largest communities of stakeholders when it comes to social media on the blockchain and one of the best examples for community governance in the crypto space. Historically seen, nothing even comes close to what bonded this community to make it what it is today. I don't know about you, but i'm confident, enthusiastic, exited and believe in it's even brighter future. Hive will contribute to a future, liberating humanity from the corporate control of the four and has done this already for so many people including me since August 2017. That's right, I am celebrating my 4 year anniversary on Hive since August. As masses from centralised social media will slowly migrate from being a product or donating their creative content to corporations for ownership to creating it and owning it, our work now has much meaning. Publishing on a protocol that's forged for this purpose, many will free themselves from being monotonous consumers to feeling liberated to be themselves. You will still have taken part in the early hours of a blockchain revolution.

What?

The Swiss Hive Meetups are a place where we discuss the many opportunities of Distributed Ledger Technology and decentralised blockchain technology, specially for the Hive blockchain. We shall explain our history to newbies, build together, invite newcomers, explain keys, post formatting, voting mana, RC's etc. and go through various dapps. Apart from other events like excursions, hikes and fun adventures, we welcome extra curricular activities about blockchain. Our main focus, passion and topic of discussion shall be about the hive blockchain and web 3.0 technologies.

When?

The Meeting will happen on the 30th of September 2021 at 20:30 in Zürich Harbrücke at the ZWZ, Neue Hard 12 on the 5th floor. Attendees kindly send a list of hive usernames to our discord channel's. Your plus ones, two's or three's are also welcome, so just list them on the main chat. One can also contact me at @yangyanje directly on Telegram. It will last for 2 hours and the first 20min are introduction. We will choose 2-4 Topics to cover. Attendees can then choose a table to attend any of the 2-4 workshops or discussion topics. Bringing your laptop is welcomed. On some future occasions we'd like to make room for presentations and speakers. The event will happen every last Thursday of the month and the next one is Scheduled to happen on the 28th of October 2021.

Where?

The Meeting will take place at ZWZ, Neue Hard 12, 8005 Zurich, Switzerland. As the event is private, we are required to know the number of attendees, so it is crucial to contact me or @sandymeyer on Discord and just let us know if you'd like to attend. You are free to leave a comment below if you will be attending. The Meeting is free to anyone with a hive account and we welcome delegations to the The Swiss badge account, as it supports our growing community. Any donations such as Cakes, Drinks, Chips or other Snacks are highly welcomed. We will have a optional Donation box for physical goodies and cool merch that we want to offer to future attendees like stickers, shopping bags and other cool stuff.

Why?

Physical meetings encourage camaraderie, engagement and can assist in planing projects like video posts and other initiatives such as Dapps development etc. Being a space for Dev's, we aspire to facilitate spaces and venues that promote coherent and mutually beneficial relationships. We'd also like to take this opportunity to promote the Hive blockchain to people that are new to it and show them the infinite potential that Hive has. Some veterans on this blockchain have been around for a while and they might be able to share an insight or two about all the amazing possibilities and opportunities lurking on our blockchain.
