Zingtober Day 18: Drive

Hello Zingers

It's now the 18th day of Zingtober with the prompt "Drive," and this time, I decided to paint and study values with Ocean Healer and Miumiu on a chill Saturday ride.

ART PROCESS

I made 3 layers just for the sketch here. I tend to do this whenever I'm not sure how I should create something; I initially draw a foundation and then experiment on top of it. I didn't put more details on my lineart since I planned to remove it later on.

I grouped the values into 4 from the darkest shadows to the light, then the grey for the transition of light and dark, and a separate value for Miumiu.

Here, I started rendering by first using the smudge tool to soften some parts while also maintaining the hard edges so it wouldn't look muddy. I added more details, and adding that faint highlights did really make the face pop, but of course, I tried not to overdo it. I painted the background using texture brushes and then applied motion blur to get the illusion that the car was moving.
